GO! Stay in the Theatre District. It's very walkable and you can take the subway everywhere. Take in a show. Check out Times Square. Take a Harbor tour and see Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Go to Ground Zero. Take a Carriage Ride in Central Park or take a bicycle Taxi tour. Go to Dinner in Little Italy on a Saturday or Sunday night when they take the tables out into the street. Go to Greenwich Village. It is beautiful. Brownstones and Street Corner Restaruants. Eat at Extra Virgin. The food and service was great. Not overpriced at not overly busy. Go to The Magnolia Bakery on Bleeker and 10th. Fabulous cupcakes. Take a Grey Line bus tour. There are a few kinds to choose from. Uptown, Downtown, and Brooklyn. The night tour is fun too. The conceirge at your hotel will offer you great day trip ideas and theatre tickets. Eat New York Cheesecake. Have a Greys Papaya Dog. Grab a Deli Sandwich. Check out the NY Public Library. Take in a Monday night Outdoor Movie in the Park. So much to do.

Go to Las Vegas, you'll be happy you did. They cater more to you, New York will just say "eh, big deal, you're 40."

Call Foley's Fish house in the Rennessiance Hotel in Times Square. I had my retirement party there. It is the best place to have an evening dinner with a 180 degree view of Times square across from where the ball drops on New years Eve. The food is wonderful! Tell them Mike referred you when you talk with Debbie. Also, I first reserved a criuse along the downtown skyline and statue of liberty, dinner at Foley's, a carriage ride through central park and dessert at the braisserir. I rented a 26 person limo to take us around. It was an awesome night!

Know someone who celebrate a big "0" birthday in the big Apple and it is something they thoroughly enjoyed and will remember a lifetime.

The important thing to do is to be with close friends/family, determine to be happy and enjoy every moment of your celebrations. It does not have to cost a fortune and you don't have to travel miles.

Whatever you decide to do have a wonderful 40th Birthday and remember every day is special so make the most of it.

Yes! Decide ahead of time just what you want to do; then take a close friend or two with you to share the fun.

YES BUT Rushenden is better for ME

Many places can be great for this, I think the important thing is that you have people who matter to you with you for the celebrations.

NYC can be really fun, but it can also be super-duper expensive, especially for something like this, so be sure that's part of your planning.

Yes I would go to NY to celebrate.
Take the boat trip round Manhattan Island,go up the Empire State Building and IF you must The Statue of Liberty but it is much hyped and a waste of time
