the beaches are fewer and the sand is somewhat grainier, but you won't be able to swim in the sound very often without some kind of wet or dry suit. the water is very cold all but a couple of weeks out of the year. |

HAHAHA...no :0( They actually are quite horrible...no sandy beaches instead we have rocky beaches (not quite at much fun or comfortable.) I usually prefer to go to the lake instead of the beach (they have grass at least :0) ). |

the water is cold like in the 50's, but if it is really hot out it is nice to take a dip, the beached usually tend to be pebbly and shoes are recommended |

Okay all of you...I grew up here and learned to swim in Puget Sound...yes it's colder than Miami or San Diego, however it's NOT that bad! I prefer swimming in Puget Sound rather than a pool any day...except in October through April. |

The average Male sperm whale releases 320 gallons of Semen everytime it ejaculates, but only 20 gallons actually makes it into it's mate. Which leaves 300 gallons to spill into the ocean...... Id buy a pool. |

Well, i agree with what most people said. I live across the water from seattle, if you are looking to swim, or swim on the beach, take the ferry over to port orchard, and there is a nice stretch of beach along Cornel Drive, and along most of Southworth drive. I still would using a wet suit though, but if you are lucky you might come on a warm day : )
But it really is a good place, there are auctually people that give scuba lessons and stuff out around there. anyway, hope that helps : ) |
