I am considering moving from Jacksonville, FL to Dallas, TX. Where are the best areas of Dallas to live?

I recommend any of the northern suburbs: Richardson, Frisco, Plano, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Highland Village. Frisco is a very family oriented community. It has a low crime rate, an awesome mall and tons of shopping centers as well as the best restaurants. This would be my first pick. Highland Village is nice but very much expensive. But any of the one's I mentioned are great. I have been recommended one town not to move to and that is Arlington. I have heard it has gotten real bad. Hope this helps! God Bless!*

The northern suburbs of Dallas are very safe, and all have excellent schools. Try Plano or Frisco, if you want a larger city .... Allen or McKinney if you want a small-town atmosphere .... although all of these are still only about a 30 min. drive from downtown

Hon, Outside the city of Dallas..

Listen to me...... PLEASE.... I have lived in and loved, for well over 30 years, Dallas. It has become a den of an illegal immigrants hell hole.. They throw dirty baby diapers everywhere. Trash is beyond belief, it is everywhere. It is filthy.. They pooped behind my shrubs, IN MY yard.. Not just once... They poop in the attic if they work in your homes. They poop in dressing rooms of stores. They have made most of Dallas into a third world country.. It is horrible.. I can not tell you the amount of garbage they have brought with them. They say they come to better their lives. When in fact they come here and create the same garbage pit they left.. They paint their homes Florescent Turquoise, Lime green, Bright Pink, Bright Orange, School bus yellow.. They cut all the trees and pretty shrubs and plants until there are no green growing things left, and it is horrible.. It is beyond filthy.. They have (more than once) pulled up next to our fence and fornicated right in my yard..

On top of all that they have parties every other week that will feature live Mariachi bands in the FRONT yard until all hours of the morning.. Cops don`t do anything. They are afraid of them.. They shoot guns and carry on.. It is absolutely unbelievable, It will be so loud it rattles the windows, Until four and five in the morning,, FOR A KIDS BIRTHDAY.. ????????

We were sitting on our porch one evening and a car came by , A guy was walking two doors down, Well they shot this man and then drug him into the car. We heard him moaning and begging as they drove off.. We called the police. They came four hours later...

IF you still choose to come here.. At least move to the NORTH part of Dallas. Or the surrounding cities in the NORTH.. Stay away from South, East and West Dallas. Don`t go to Mesquite or Garland... They are eating those wonderful cities up as we speak.. Don`t go to Seagoville. Go to Allen, Denton, Mckinney, Frisco, Kaufman County, not the city of Kaufman,, Dennison, Richardson areas.. NO NO NO, NOT Balch Springs. It has become wet (sell liquor) and is now full of homeless folks and drunks and crack heads....

It is horrible.. We finally sold our home two years ago and bought a farm about 40 miles from Dallas.. I miss the Dallas of years ago.. This Dallas is no longer our community..

I use to stand up for these folks, I couldn`t figure out why folks had problems with them. The ones I know seemed sooo nice..

The operative word here is Seemed... One time their dog broke down my fence and impregnated my dog. They laughed in my face, and then there was 6 young guys face my 150 pound , 55 year old husband. They did not fix the fence, They did nothing to remedy the problem..

They are BY FAR, Bar none, the worst neighbors I ever had.. I lost $30,000.00 when I sold my home.. No one else wants to live there either.. It really really really is horrible..

Don`t blame me if you find offense here. I did not do these things. I speak the GOD`S HONEST TRUTH...They have ruined the great city of Dallas..

Where is your company located? The Dallas area is huge and that will make a lot of difference. Also, is the cost of housing a factor?

Dallas area is huge. Plano is a good place and school. But see commute.

North Dallas, Balch Springs, ANY place outside of the actual city.
Dallas can be dangerous if you don't know where you are going.
Since you have family there, check with them and see where the hot spots are for crime, best schools, affordable housing, etc.

You might want to check out the Rockwall area that is East of Dallas by Lake Ray Hubbard. Good schools too.

The north side of the metroplex is pandemonium. Traffic is too crazy. There are just as nice of places on the west and south side towards Fort Worth. South Arlington, Mansfield area is booming. The new cowboy stadium is going up in Arlington so things are looking up for the city economically. Besides, traffic getting in and out of the south is much better than in Dallas and points north and east
