I am going to Las Vegas this Friday for 5 days. What do you recommend I do?

I have a convention that starts Sunday and have some free time in between. Do you have any recommendations?

You will lots of free time at night, too. Check out a cirque show like Love or Mystere. See Phantom of the Opera or Jersey Boys. See LeReve. Lots of shows to chose from.

See the volcano at Mirage

Go to the Forum Shops at Caesars for window shopping and two free anatronic statute shows plus a circular excalator

Go to the Grand Canal Shops at Venetian for window shopping, wandering minstrels, a gondola ride, and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum

Go the Mandalay Bay and see Shark Reef
Go the Mirage and see Sigfried & Roys Secret Garden

The only dinner show is Tourn ament of Kings at Excalibur and right next door you can go into Luxor, the pyramid.

Catch one of the Cirq de Solil shows. They are awesome! We went to see "O" and its crazy. We also saw Rita Rudner - she's hilarous. And the Blue Man Group, if they're still playing there, are a neat group.

Otherwise, just walk up and down the strip. Peoplewatching is a blast! There are shops everywhere if you want to buy stuff.

You have to take a couple of shows:
LOVE, KA, Jubille, Nathan Burton, Jersey Boys, Mystere

You have to eat at:
Bellagio Buffet, Rio Buffet, Burger Bar, RAO's, Margaritaville, Steakhouse(Circus Circus), Hard rock (gamblers special luckys 24/7), Pizza at NYNY

Clubs to visit:
Rain, Playboy club, 40 deuce, Pure, VooDoo Lounge

Sites:
Bellagio Fountains, Freemont Experience, Eiffell Tower, Pirate show, Ceasar Palace shops shows.

Have a convention on Saturday/Sunday, but going to see Mystere on Saturday night...Sunday getting a tattoo at the Skin Factory...um..what else..EATING!! Oh, seeing the Ferrari's at the Wynn....people watching...I'm sure you'll find something fun...Have a great time and a safe trip!!

For me, 2 or 3 days of hanging out on the strip is more than enough, so I'd definitely rent a car. Drive out to Red Rock Canyon, Laughlin, the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, etc.

Great experience.

Go see Terry Fator at the Mirrage. This is a great show and not too expensive. I think it is a must see. Oh, it will be hot, so bring only summer clothes with you.

most people who come here watch shows but those things are sometimes a waste of cash. there's tons of things to do here even just walking down the strip is pretty fun there's a million places to go and half the time you don't even need a car. Gameworks is a giant arcade place and its connected to a m&m place and a cocacola place. there are plenty of clubs to party at and theres also this place called skymania where you can jump in this room full of trampolines<relly funn> so ya there's just too many things you can do

Chris
A lot of good recommendations here. While this may not be for everyone, I've found that one of the funnest things to do is to have a night of HEAVY drinking with your friends, stumbling from casino to casino with drink in hand and letting the night turn into an adventure. There's always a place to find a quick drink, and you can carry them anywhere including outside the casinos on the strip.

Make sure you hit up Bally's Big Kitchen Buffet... It's the best in town in my opinion, and I have been to most of them including Wynn and Bellagio.

*See a show. There are tons of shows in Vegas, and something for everybody. You can see Blue Man Group, Stomp, Bette Midler, Penn & Teller, Jubilee, Wayne Brady, one of the Cirque shows. Lots of options, and all of them are good.

*Wander the strip and check out the sights - see the Bellagio fountains, the Treasure Island pirate show, the volcanoes at Mirage. There is a lion exhibit in MGM. NYNY is a very cool place to wander around. There is a shark reef at Mandalay Bay, and a Dolphin Habitat and Big Cat exhibit behind Mirage.

*Shop - there are great shops in the Venetian, Caesars, and at Planet Hollywood.

*Maybe take a tour of the Hoover Dam

There are many wonderful and interesting places in Las Vegas where you can go & visit, such as, inexpensive funny comedy Magic show by Mac King at Harrahs to many free shows like The Aquarium at the Silverton to Bellagio's Botanical Garden or you can visit the World's largest and finest classic car showroom 125,000 sq. feet The Auto Collection at Imperial Palace. There are many large shopping malls like Las Vegas Outlet Center to Galleria at Sunset. I usually visit this informative website: http://www.going-lasvegas.com/ to get most of my information on where to go and shop in Las Vegas. Good Luck and have a great time in Las Vegas
