-Go to Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas decorations
-Definately go to Times Square on new year's eve (watch out for pick-pockets
-Go to Macy's at Herald's Square
-Empire State Building
-See a show on Broadway
-Someone else mentioned the Time Out NY magazine. That's also a great idea. |

Do as much as you can fit in. I went this time last year and it was fab. Do the touristy stuff if you want, a trip up the empire state is a must. I loved it. Do everything! Times Square in the evening is great even if you just walk around. There's a great atmosphere and everything is buzzing! I never once felt unsafe and I found the cab drivers really helpful and, unlike somebody else who answered, I never found the streets smelled of urine. |

Eat-Drink-Shop. If that's not enough, there's dozens of places to visit. How about The Museum of National History & Rose Center(Planetarium). It's a huge place at 79th & Central Park West. There's a subway stop right out front. Sorry don't know which line though. Or pay your respects at Ground Zero, site of The World Trade Center. The subways themselves go everywhere, are not really expensive, and are fairly quick. Don't be affraid, it's not like the movies. Broadway is a great idea too! Or maybe a game at MSG. Enjoy, & dress warm. |

About £60 per person but definitely worth it, take the helicopter flight over the Statue of Liberty. Loved it.
Saks is far nicer than Bloomingdales or Macy's.
Go ice skating in Central Park. |

I used to live in New Jersey so we went to NYC often. The thing I miss the most is Chinatown. I always recommend that and Central Park, just beautiful! |

Hi ya: Hope you have a great time. But watch the yellow taxis, you need the exact cash so have a lot of different dominations and change. They have to put their money in a box because of robberies - soooo no change can be had. |

There are literally a million things to do. It depends of your personal interest. No one can really tell you. Besides the regular tourist traps like the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State building I would advise you to pick up a magazine that can be found at NYC newstands called Timeout New York. It's a comprehensive list of things to do and going ons. Also pick-up a lonely planet guide to NYC, I often find them to be very helpful when I am traveling to places. |

Buy a gun, hold up a liquor store, graffitti the subway, mug someone in Central Park (which isn't), make a killing near stock market, and generally live the American way!! |
