I am originally from CA but moving to Augusta, GA. Is the humidity really that bad out there??

It's all depending on what you're used to. I moved from an area that has a climate extremely similar to GA, to a very dry and windy climate. Now my skin is constantly flakey, my hair feels like straw, and my sinuses are miserable because they stay dried out all the time. You'll just have to judge for yourself. It's GOT to be better than going north where you have to worry about ice collapsing your roof or snow piling up so you can't get out your door. Ugh!! All that cold....YUCK!! Good luck, keep your mind open and don't forget to check the historical sights around the area. There are beautiful places and interesting things to see all over that part of the country.

coming out from california, yeah you're gonna die the first year, but you'll get used to it. it's great on your skin though!!!

It depends but its the worst in summer, winter it just rains alot which causes ice, dont expect snow. But yeah, the humidity is the worst here because we are off the coast

I moved from DC where there is a little humidity. I thought before moving here "how can it be that much of a difference". Wow, was I wrong! It's so humid down here! Summer is miserable!

i moved out from CA to Augusta too ! lol oh yes its really really humid out here if its like 80 degrees it feels like 100 good grief it so humid
but the scenery is really pretty here too. lots of tree's and there's not as much traffic as in ca and pollution

My sister moved to a suburb of Atlanta about 5 years ago and has regretted it ever since. She can't wait to move back to Wisconsin, looking forward to even ice storms, compared to the humidity, among other things. She constantly has to call the bug guy, to spray for termites, then another guy comes to protect the house against roof rats (a kind of squirrel that chews into your rafters). She said the realtor lied to her big time, and said that the airconditioning would only be used about 4 months out of the year. She's only had it off for about 4 months, and has hired another "guy" to make sure it stays running. I don't know about other people's experiences, but my sister can't wait to move out. <*)))><

I moved to CA from Philadelphia. I spent my summers in the South.

Since you are from a dry, desert climate, you will be miserable the first year or two until your body adjusts. I was miserable when I moved to Los Angeles...no seasons and SO dry!

In Atlanta (July and August) be prepared for the following:

Your hair will fall
Sweat stains
Sweating as soon as you get out of the shower
Rain (a blessing in the summer)
