It's like being squeezed into a sardine can! Unless you're flying first class, the seats are very small and close together. The food is deplorable, so bring your own if your picky. Turbulence and what not usually isn't too bad, and the fact that you can go 3,000 miles in 5 hours is impressive! |

Depending on what calls your on....if its coach expect a cramped ride with bad food if any, buisness expect a better trip a much better trip, First expect the best of all. But over all avoid expect it to be worse than a car ride but better than a bus or train ride. |

It's like being on a bus, with a lot more noise. Bring gum to chew when your ears start to pop from the pressure, that helps. Also get up and walk around some if it's a long flight so you don't cramp up. Overall it can be a fun experience because you can look out and see all the cities you are flying over. Have fun, and I wish you a safe flight. |

It's pretty much like riding in a car, but you're up in the air. You feel the g-force a little when you take off, but otherwise you really don't feel anything different than you would on the ground. |

Fun on takeoff, but long flights get boring.
Just remember, turbulence is just a difference in air, and won't cause the plane to crash.
You also have a much higher chance of getting killed in a car then a plane if you are worried about that. |

A bit cramped, somewhat boring. Make SURE that you're not flying with congested sinuses, because the descent will hurt. Medicate any congestion well in advance, or the pressure will make it no fun at all. But that's really the only bad part, and the idea of flight is always exciting. |

Like riding in a really tall bus with more acceleration. Watch out for the potholes |

Flying is quite dull, actually.
Pointer:
-Wear as little metal as possible
-Wear shoes that you can easily slip on and off
(this is to make it through security quickly and painlessly)
-Pee before the flight boards. Getting to the lavatories on the plane is a lousy experience.
-Drink 6-8 ozs of water during each hour of the flight-this replenishes the water you are losing due to moisture in your breath-the air is very dry (read: 0% humidity due to altitude)
-Take a whole bunch of vitamins before you fly-specifically vitamin C. Someone on that plane is going to have a cold. You don't want it. But you are going to be cooped up on that plane, breathing the same air as that person for several hours.
-Sometimes you can get a decent view with a window seat. I prefer aisle-easier access to stretch your legs. But for your first flight-go with a window, but make sure you do pee before the flight.
-Bring gum for the descent.
Lastly:
-If you are travelling with a friend named Jack, don't say "Hi Jack" to him at any point. Folks seem to be a little uncomfortable with this sequence of words on an airplane or airport. (supposed to be a joke, but ya never know) |

I have only flown in one once from Charlotte to Cincinnati.
The time difference is hard to comprehend at first since my ride left at the same time I sis and drove 45 miles to pick me up and I flew a couple hundred miles.....
Be sure to get a window seat if at all possible. It is a trip looking down at the Earth.
The only thing I did not like was hitting some turbulence and it felt like the plane dropped 500 ft which it really didn't.I just wish someone had told me what to expect nof it.(I felt panicky like George Castanza)
You will enjoy it I betcha. |

I really enjoy it, you can't really see the ground unless you're taking off or landing, and if you don't get a window seat i doesn't matter at all, i suggest some headphones (preferably noise canceling), gum, and a book or something. the gum is really important because it keeps your ears from popping, because at the high altitudes, the low air pressure makes your ears pop. |

I have flown in so many planes I can't think back to the first time. Relax. You will enjoy it. It is really pretty ordinary, depending on the size of the plane. |

me too.. i never flown in a plane, i usually just sit in my seat while the plane continues on it journee :b
but seriously its like riding a bus if you sat in coach or like a limo if you got first class. you ears may pop during takeoff or landing, so chew gum to reduce the popping pain. if the flight is really long, drink plenty of water to keep you hydrated. wear only the basic make up because the cabin is very dry.
lastly have fun. |

As far as I am concerned I absolutely loved take off and landing. Reminds me of a roller coaster. In the air it is pretty smooth unless you hit turbulence, then it gets a little bumpy...If you have a tendency to get car sick, get some Dramamine to deal with the motion sickness..also get yourself some gum to chew, helps the popping in the ears. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. The body tends to swell a little...you may want to wear shoes you can easily slip in and out of so you can take them off in the air...
Good luck and have fun!! |

the long lines to check in and the security check sucks. the flight itself is pleasant as long as there are no crying babies. you will enjoy it. bring your ipod. |

small and enclosed. chew gum to alleviate pressure build up in your ears. drink lots of water while ont he plane to stay hydrated, but not so much that you will have to go to the bathroom frequently.
Good luck and have a safe trip! |

It is very uncomfortable. You are sitting next to some one so close you are nearly on top of them. Other then that every thing is ok. I would recommend bringing some gum to chew on the way though. Helps pop the ears. |

|
The worse thing is just after take off when your ears pop and click.
Once the plane is at height and flying normally, it is like nothing, you hardly know that you are in the air, and it isn`t no different than sitting in a room at ground level. |
