Channel Tunnel to France.. turn east to Russia....carry on thru sunny Siberia....cross the Bering strait to Alaska then south into USA...then east to NY.
Could take a while to get there though.
Go in the winter and you can walk all the way...the bering strait would be frozen over, |

A trip by boat (such as the Q.E. II) will take several days and be much more expensive than flying. But it's your only option (unless you want to tramp on a freighter, but that's pretty bare-bones). |

I used to live in New York. We sailed back to England on the P&O Canberra. It was cheaper than shipping the luggage and we had a week long cruise. Bon voyage ! |

The QE2 goes to New York (this is expensive though) There are other boats that go but I think that this is the biggest an most popular
If you really want to go that much then maybe this could be a chance for you to face your fears-it might not be that bad you could maybe go first class which could mean a better flight |

Contact a local travel agent. Explain your situation to them. They will book you lodging on a ship. Sometimes you can get a great deal on a cargo ship. Some of them are set up with cabins for paying customers. Good luck. |

get on a cruise ship from Southampton to NY, I don't like flying either but I have to if I want to go anywhere.
I've got 8 flights in 5 weeks coming up. I think my wife's hand is going to be crushed beyond recognition. LOL! |

i dont like to fly either but its the best way to go. ive been on a ship before and if you like casinos and getting sea sick itll be perfect. taking a ship takes around 5-7 days and is really expensive. if you do decide to take a plane, try to get an aisle or window seat cos ive been stuck in the middle before and its awful. make sure you bring a nice pillow so you can just sleep the whole way. be over before ya know it. |

There's only one other way to get from the UK to the USA and that's by boat unless you're a very good swimmer. |
