It will be an adjustment..."I'm dreaming of a White Christmas" you can kiss good bye unless you head into the mountains or Vail or something......but don't be a cheap bastard you can hop on a plane and in 4 hours or so be in New York or New England for the holidays...any time you want...That's the bottom line... |
|

Smiles
|
visit Long Beach and Venice beach and Newport Beach and Universal Studios and Magic Mountain..... |

Right now is a good weather for Los Angeles, not too hot or cold, it won't be any warm until spring next year. Just enjoy yourself go sightsee in Hollwood, Staples Center etc... L.A. is capital entertaint of the world, there's alot to do here just alot of driving and traffic suck here. |

Yep! Snow is available in New England, Midwest, NYC and even in DC Christmas, but not in Southern California, Florida nor Hawaii.
My advice would be to spend your Christmas vacation somewhere where snow and Christmas trees are abundant. Enjoy your time and for GOD's sake, it's America! Don't confine yourself in one place; enjoy the benefits of every place in this great beautiful country.
Hmmm...how about spending Christmas in Minnesota? Just a suggestion. |

If you want snow and the weather go to the mountain. Check out renting a Cabin in Big Bear, or Pine Mountain by Frazier park. There area cabins and places to stay up in the mountains in San Bernadino Mt's as well as above San Diego. Now if you want hard core snow and ice check out staying some place in theHigh Sierras.
One of the best parts of living in LA winter weather is something you visit....you do not have to stay there. For those of us that hate shoveling snow and ice we would rather stay down below and shovel...... |

no snow will not kill you. what a stupid question. |

Miss Marie

If seeing snow is important to you, take a trip upstate to Tahoe. As for fall colors, what you see depends on what's planted around you.
But really, I doubt that it will make much of a difference. Not having to shovel snow off your sidewalk/car/life might be a nice change. = ) |

Lemme get this straight. You're afraid because there is no snow?
Every watch the Rose Parade and envy us with the sunshine and blue skies while you're socked in by a blizzard?
Go to the mountains if you want snow. Even better, go home. |
|

Muppet
 |
The mountains that you see to the east get plenty of snow in the winter. Haven't you heard that LA is the only place where you can surf in the morning and snow ski in the afternoon? Check out Mammoth or Big Bear.
The website below lists 225 things to do in Los Angeles along with 225 movie locations, events, historical info, fun & games, etc, etc...
If you can't find something to do here than you're not looking. Pick up a map of LA and check things out.
I'm new here also and most native LA people tell me I've seen and done more in 2 years than they have in a lifetime.
The aerial tramway in Palm Springs will take you 8500 feet up into the mountains where you can also play in the snow. |

well im sure that you will feel somewhat welcomed here in l.a because you just get used to it and if you really want to see the snow you can always drive up to big bear or the mountains i did that once and it was fun but the rain to me is like snow and i hear this year we will get plenty of rain compared to last year |
|

Yeah Yeah
|
well you will get used to not having snow. i love it here! and yes you are making a big deal. and its not always warm so dont get your hopes up especially now that's its getting a bit chilly! i'm sure not as cold as having snow but it sure gets cold. but yeah you'll get used to it eventually |

Hey Madden, if I had to ride around in an RV and "these kinds" of vehicles all day, I'd be frightened too. How about a nice plane ride over some trees. You're just an hour and a half from Big Bear where there is some real snow and some machine made snow. |

there is plenty of spots you could take a day/weekend trip to in order to enjoy the fall weather and the snow. I moved from the east coast to the west. I notice the difference the longer I am in the warmer weather. Head north for some seasonal weather, the coast is beautiful. oregon, washington, try colorado and even northern arizona which is only 6-8 hours away. |

First look within yourself and see what makes you happy then you can relate to the things that are similar to it. Your bound to find someone with your same interest that can show you around to the things you like. |
