This is a tough situation. It would be great if you could separate as friends and not hurt each other. In your hearts, you both know you are going to move on...and it is very mature of you to be thinking of how to handle this. Could you have a gentle, but open conversation with her about this? Maybe you would find a way to remain friends, but not be exclusive...have a "transition" period. You might be surprised by what she is thiniking. Just make it clear that you do not want to hurt her, you value her friendship, but you are both very young and will surely have other girl friends and boyfriends through your high school years. You cannot control her reaction, but you can be as kind as you possibly can be. I hope things work out well for you.

Well it sounds like either way you're going to break up with her correct? If so then you should probably get it over with. You'd just be leading her on longer if you moved and stayed together. If you aren't sure about it, talk to her about it. It's going to be sad no matter what, but maybe holding on might not help? good luck

You should just break up with her. If she doesn't want to hang out with you anymore, the truth is maybe she doesn't have feelings for you anymore. And if your relationship isn't moving anywhere, why bother waiting, get this over with, and enjoy being with some of your closer friends.
