I need honeymoon help!?

I'm getting married August 4th and I could use some suggestions for planning the honeymoon (leaving Aug 5th). Here is some things we've agreed on:
-somewhere in the US
-preferrably on the beach (we realize humidity will be very high)
-7 days
-budget of $2500

Would somewhere on the West Coast be appropriate? We live in the midwest.

I think Sanibel beach in Ft Meyers Florida would be an ideal place for your honeymoon. gorgeous white sand beaches and crystal clear blue waters. I did a little bit of research and this is what I found....For a 1 week stay (Aug 5th to Aug 12th)including air fare you're looking at about $1900 That's at a 4Star resort and spa on Sanibel Island.

My wife and I honeymooned on Lake Superior in a lighthouse/bed & breakfast in Big Bay, MI. It was quaint and rustic, but we had a blast. The weather in August should be a lot more comfortable up there than it would be any place down South. Congrats on your impending marriage!

Yes yes yes! Take a look at Monterey and Carmel! Very romantic and there is a ton of stuff to do! Beaches are nice and there are some wonderful hotels there.

The 17 mile drive is just amazing. Some of the best resturants are found here, there are several day cruises that you can take which are really cool. The wildlife is just amazing! This place has romance all over it! I just love going to this area and there are some very pretty places to stay! There is Pebble Beach, Big Sur and Salinas Valley are near by, check them out for travel specails. Big Sur is really cool very neat and pretty! I think you all would have a good time in this area. Beaches are nice.

Also check out San Diego, very nice places to stay if, great beaches and a ton of stuff to do! Check out their visitors webstite, also ask them to send you info they will send coupons maps ect...saves you some money!

There are several small beach towns around San Diego that are nice, you are also very close to Mexico if you would like to do a day trip. That is fun and diffrent to do! Good shopping, good food. This would be a great place for you all to go, all prices ranges can have a good time here!

I hope this helps! I think going to the westcoast for a honeymoon is a great idea, you all can do a lot with your money again I have learned to contact the visitors center they know of the hotel specails and will send you out deals. Every lilttle bit helps! Have a good trip and congrats!!!!!!!!

my husband and I live in the Midwest as well and went to a beach....in the Midwest for our honeymoon. it will keep expenses down. We went to Ludington MI and down to Mears MI where we were at the sand dunes....it was really warm water and nice. If you are saving all this money by not going so far or by driving you can rent dune buggies and jet ski's and do a lot more there than we did.

well you should bring her to Florida and show her all of the sights

Fly into either LA or San Fran and rent a motorhome...a small 23' would work great. Take the coast road either up or down, it's a beautiful drive with great sights. You can rent one-way or return to pickup location. Go to www.cruiseamericarv.com which is a national company to set it up. Humidity in California is nothing compared to what you're probably used to and will still be chilly at night...especially Northern California.

Honeymoon help or vacation help. Where do you and your future wife want to go, and what do you and she like to do. Come in together and you will find your own best answer.

Ok, you live in Midwest,so I guess it wont matter west or east coast because the flight expense will be almost the same.

Talking about beach I will choose Florida as my first destination, lots of beautiful beaches there.
Second Myrtle beach South Carolina (smaller town but nice), Third if you want a bigger place, LA and surrounding area have lots of beautiful beaches

Use priceline.com to find a nice resort
I believe your budget will be enough, if you dont go to fancy restaurant 3 times a day.

As a beach bum, I can tell you the BEST beaches are on the Gulf of Mexico, mainly in Florida. The beaches on the Atlantic (East Coast) are naturally flat, hard, dark and filled with rocks along the shore. Sometimes fake sand is brought in, but it isn't the same or as beautiful as the Gulf. The beaches on the Pacific (West Coast) are softer than the Atlantic but the water is cold and not as clear as the Gulf. Hawaii is gorgeous, but $2500 will go much further in a place like Sandestin Beach Resort, Clearwater, Long Boat Key or Key West. All of these beaches are absolutely beautiful and are surrounded by great restaurants and lots of things to do! Have a wonderful time wherever you go and congratulations!
