What climate are you looking for? Hot? Cold? Average?
If you want the four seasons then definitely try the New England states, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Vermont, New York.
If you want summer year around then anything on the gulf is perfect.
If you want beauty then Colorado and Montana are tops.
If you want solitude and quiet then Kansas is the best!
Good luck! |

It depends on what your looking for and what you like to do. I would recommend looking here http://top100.relocate-america.com/ . It's a list of the top 00 cities in the US. I would make sure to research the crime rate before you decide which city you prefer as well as the activities in that area. I live in Colorado and love it, but I also love being outdoors which is a good portion of why i love it here. Also, since your still dreaming about moving, you may want to just visit instead of move here. Our economy is not doing very well right now and we are on our way towards a depression--which is very undesirable and take a long time to recuperate from. |

It's funny, but so many Americans wish they could move to Australia. We love your accent, too. I guess it's true when people say "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence".
Unfortunately, with the state of the economy in the U.S. it is not the place to move to unless you have a confirmed job waiting for you. To permanently immigrate here you would need a work visa which means an American based company must sponsor you, and with so many Americans out of work and looking for a job that would be extremely hard to get unless you were in specific professions such as the medical fields, teaching, engineering. etc.
But to answer your question, the two fastest growing states are Arizona and Nevada. One of the poorest choices would be Michigan, too much of it's econemy is related to the auto industry |

If you are saying you want to immigrate to America, you will have plenty of time to decide on a place. Immigration takes years and tons of luck. Unless you have an immediate family member to sponsor you or a really, really valuable job skill, you have to apply through the Diversity Lottery Program. Over 10 million people apply for this lottery every year and fewer than 50,000 are selected. the process takes several years. If you want to come to America to work temporarily, it is also nearly impossible. You must find an employer to give you a contract and sponsor your work visa, and esp. now, that is very difficult. You may research visa requirements at the sites below. I know this is not the type of news you hoped to hear, but it is the reality of the situation. No use planning on doing something that is nearly impossible and thinking you just send in a visa application and it will be granted. Australia also has very strict immigration requirements...as do most countries. |

There are many beautiful and safe states in the US. Here are my favorite locations:
Carmel, CA. A quaint village filled with flowers and interesting shops and artists.
Kennebunkport, Maine. Peaceful and charming area that is home to the 41st pres.
Alpharetta, GA. Beautifully planned city. Very reasonable housing and trees and flowers everywhere.
Those are 3 different areas of the country: New England, California and the South. You can't go wrong with any of them. |

Southern Illinois is the best. If you like the changing of the seasons. Nice hot summers, not too cold winters. We don't get a lot of snow just enough to enjoy. Spring and fall are fabulous. The people are nice and friendly. We have a diversity kinds of people. Mexicans, Indians, etc.
Come and check us out. Plus were right in the middle of America, not too far from the rest of the states. |

I would recommend moving to one of the northeastern states like Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, etc. As far as natural disasters go, these states are the safest; they don't get hurricanes like they do in south, or tornados like they do in the central states, or earthquakes like they do in California. The only thing you have to worry about is snow. I live in northern PA and just this week we got at least a foot of snow. So if you don't like the cold (yesterday it got down to 6 degrees Fahrenheit/-14.5 degrees Celsius) this wouldn't be the best spot. But if you move to the southern parts of the state it isn't quite as cold. BTW, the temperature in the summer gets pretty hot.
P.S. I love Australian accents:) |

I am like the others, check the places out first before you move then make up your mind. But here are some of my favorites: If you like Mountains then there are no place to me then Hot Springs Arkansas, where ever you look there is mountains. Also if you cross one street you will come across a spring that is naturally hot coming up from the ground and then you go back across the street, there is another spring that is ice cold. I also liked (when I traveled) New London Ct. it is a real small town. Norfolk Virgina- They have the beach there, Washington because of the history of it. New York- Times Square. I mean you just got to look around before you settle in one place here. They are all special in their own ways. |

Well, if you like warm areas, go to Florida or California. But sometimes those places have weather like hurricanes in Florida and stuff. If I could move from where I live in America, I would go to Colorado. Sunny, good weather in summer, and in winter, great skiing and not too cold. Beautiful mountains there and ranches. It is a great place. |

I recommend the southwest (Texas, New Mexico, Arizona), as the weather ranges from warm to hot throughout the year. The food, people, music, and other constituents make it a great place too |

Funny,It's my dream to move to Australia.
Don't move to America.It sucks.
and the economy is horrible now.
I bet you'll regret it if you do move her.
Whatever you do,DON'T MOVE TO NEW YORK OR CALIFORNIA.
The rudest people in America live there. It's all about money and how you look there.I'm so thankful I don't live there. It would be a living hell.
Plus,in New york WEIRDO'S are everywhere.
That's where the weirdo's unite. They move to New York cause they can't fit in anywhere else.
In California,it would be tiring. So much competition.
It would be VERY hard to find a decent man there. |

Ok it depends on wht kind of envierment you like to like to live in, if you like big states, if you do then new york is the best, it is bug and has a large population, if you like hot weather then arizona is the place to be. If yo you like small places then how about Road island, If you like islands , then alaska or hawaii. So really i depends on what you like! |
