Some fun things to do is maybe just look around, then maybe one night, go out to eat at a place you found. Or, go to the John Hancock tower. THat is a lot of fun.

Check out the Jazz & Blues clubs. Excalibur is a nice night club to hit if you're into that scene. Gino's East is an excellent place to get pizza. You also get to write on everything in there and leave proof that you were there. :-)
You do have to check out the Chinatown, Little Italy, Little Greece, and all the ethnic neighborhoods. There you'll find some amazing food finds. Hope you have a great trip and stay warm.

Go to a museum. How about the Museum of Broadcast Communications. I've never been to Chicago but I'd like to visit there one day. Have fun.

calis_242
go see the concierge at the hotel. he/she can get you discounts. walking up michigan ave at night is fun. and shedd aquarium/adler planetarium/museum of natural history and navy pier are fun. I think the lincoln park zoo is doing some things with lights at night or something like that

Window shopping on State Street or Michigan Avenue is good and inexpensive. If you wat to window shop indoors then the Water Tower Place or Merchandise Mart will work. You can visit a taping of either ABC (Channel 7) or NBC (Channel 5). They both have open studios that face the public street. Educational-wise there is the Field Museum. Shedd Aquariam, Adler Planetarium. And simply for the fun of it the stuff like Sears Tower or John Handcock Building. By the way. the temperature aroumd here is like 20 degrees and very windy............dress warm and have fun.

Save the Sears Tower!
im from da southside of da chi. downtown is usually your best bet for "safe" fun. go to the house of blues, sears tower, milenium park, all de museams cept da shed aquarium it sucks. the hancock tower, da loop, michigan ave, n etc. there are sum pretty bad neighborhoods you visiting folk shouldnt go to unless your daring like- little village "la villita" gage park, n roosevelt ave. pizza is huge in chitown da best place for stuffed pizza is genodonalds, flat crust- falcos on archer n california ave. hav fun!!

I know most of the museums have free days. The Shedd is an awesome aquarium. Other museums are world class, too.

If you are a baseball fan do a tour of Wrigley Field. Also visit the John Hancock Tower. It is open at night and gives a really good perspective of the Chicago skyline. There is some high falutin' shopping near the Hancock Tower, too.

da cubs, err I guess wrigleyville this time of year

Inexpensive??? Not much to do downtown this time of year that doesn't cost much money. Your best bet for a cheap day is make your way over to the Chicago Library where they give out free passes to alot of the tourist places (museum, zoo, etc.). Or like the other person was saying go walk around the magnificent mile and then make your way over to State Street and do a little ice skating(DRESS WARM). Those would be your best options if trying to spend as little money possible. DRESS WARM!

Food wise my personal favorite fast food type places to eat around Chicago would have to be portillos, ginos(best deep-dish pizza around), giordanos, and pretty much any hole in the wall hot dog joint. If you get a chance to make your way out towards the suburbs go to paradise pup and get you a burger and the 3 layer fry’s BEST EVER!!!

I don't know about the playboy club but if your looking for some night life action trust me theres plenty to do but theres no way around spending money in the Chicago bars(well you are a women so I guess you could get guys to buy you drinks).

HAVE FUN!!!!

PS- If you smoke bring cigarettess do NOT buy them in cook county.

The Museum of Contemporary Art has free admission on Tuesdays.

The Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington) holds almost all of its art performances (music, ballet, dance) for free. Performances are either on weekdays and weekends.

You can also go to the Christmas Market in Daley Plaza (called "Christkindlmarket"), which you can get in for free.

Well you missed the thanksgiving parades! lol I see your name is mama to 2 girls but you mention playboy clubs?? that's confusing when trying to point you in the right direction. Are kids not involved?
Museums are always great in chicago, free trolley rides, the bean, ice skating in millenium park. You have to pay for the sears tower so you might want to print out your tickets online in advance. Also there is a Christmas village at Daley square if you want to shop and eat. Lincoln park zoo is free! okay so it's a little cold out!
if you're going to see the lake, go to Navy Pier. There's plenty to do there but keep in mind it's COLD OUT. Not sure where you are but do prepare for windy days and bitter cold nights!
We enjoy the American Girl doll store, Hersheys store ( right across the street), seeing the water tower, taking trolley rides,
and just seeing the windows at macy's. Hop on inside to look at the tree as well.
Have fun! watch out for snow this weekend. we have winter storm warnings.

f_of_hypocrisy
