Ideal Age for kids Disney FLORIDA?

I have taken my kids a couple of times to Disney. My daughter was 4 the first time we took her. After my son was born, we went again, she was 5 and he was 1. Next trip, 8 and 4, this trip coming up, 11 and 7. I have found that just about any age kid loves a trip to Disney. The argument that I hear all the time is the smaller kids wont enjoy it. Wrong. They can't go on the Tower of Terror, but there are TONS of things for them to do. Meeting thier favorite characters and getting their autographs is really cool. There are plenty of rides they can go on, and the shows are spectacular. The other argument is the smaller kids wont remember it. I ask you, how many family vacations do you remember from when you were little. That is what pictures and videos are for.
The first time we took my daughter, she had no idea what to expect. We stayed at the All-Star Movies resort, and got to the resort early (before check-in.) We checked in, let the resort hold our bags, and went straight to the park. While checking in she had discovered the playground by the pool area. When we tried to leave, she had a fit. We got on the bus to the Magic Kingdom, and most of the ride there she was complaining. When we got there, she was quiet. We walked in, and stood at the beginning of Main Street U.S.A, with Cinderella's castle in the distance. A couple of characters were walking by, and stopped to say hello. I looked down at her and said, "Well kiddo, welcome to Walt Disney World." She looked at me with a big smile and said, "Dad, we don't have to go back to that playground!" I will never forget that as long as I live. There is always something that happens that marks our trips to Disney. That one is my favorite.
If you do decide to go, make sure to stay on property. Disney resort guests have many more perks and special advantages than those staying off property, that it is worth every penny. It is the best way to truly get the Disney experience, and the price is competitive. Your boys would LOVE the All-Star Movies resort. Each wing of the resort is decorated as a different Disney movie. If you want more info, go to www.disneyworld.com and you can compare resorts. Also, pick up the Birnbaum's guide to WDW. There are tons of guidebooks out there, but we have found that one works best for us. There is also a Birnbaum's guide for kids by kids, that your sons would like. My kids get one for every trip, and make their own lists as to what they want to see.

I would say 7years old is the perfect age but I am sure your kids will have a great time.

In my opinion, any age above three. Disney World is fun for everyone. My advice is to go during the winter, though. Your kids will complain about the heat if you go any time between March and November.

I think both 7 and 4 are great ages... Once the 7 year old get's much older.. then you would have to split up... one parent takes the older and one parent takes the younger... but at the age they are at now... they both will enjoy the same things and there will be many things at both of there ages... i would avoid the water parks with the 4 year old. He will be too small for any of the slides... and the 7 year old still need to be watched constantly at a waterpark. So it mighth be more of a hassle than worth. Both kids might find Epcot a bit boring. Some of it will keep their attention... but you should maybe consider a 1/2 day there

I say any age is fine for a kid, specially if there know who is Micky and Minnie and all the friends and all.

I was planning to invite my niece and nephew to Florida. and plan out to visit all the theme park.
Of course not all of theme, just Disney and Sea World. Then the rest next time they visit again.

Since i haven't seen them all in very long time.
1 year old - 6 year. i will be fun and i will take a lot of picture.

Plus when i was younger, we as family(all 8 of us and grandma when she visit) have visit all the theme park there is in Orlando. I was very cool and wonderful experience.

I know that my older nephew he love marine wildlife, so that is some thing i can do, SeaWorld.
I sure have a lot of wonder memory and lot of old pic back home in England somewhere.

IMHO I wouldn't take ANY kids under the age of 7.

I know of people who have taken very young children, and the kids just don't have the capacity to take everything in, and they don't have any long lasting memories of it.

We took our kids when they were 8, 10 and 12 and we had a blast. Plus we had no messing about on the flights - I'm sure you know what I mean by that!!

It is such an expensive holiday to go on, so for me, for my kids not to have appreciated it and remembered it - this is a big thing.

I don't know if this helps, but this was my experience!

When you do go, I hope you have the time of your lives - and don't forget your credit card - you WILL max it - I promise!!

We took our son there last year , we stayed at a Disney hotel,
he was six , but there were kids far younger than he , and
plenty there for them , its totally geared up for families ,
you will love it.

They are both a great age - take them soon before your 7 year old claims he is too old for that stuff. :)

My parents took me to Disneyland in CA when I was only weeks old and we have amazing photos of me with Mickey. Any age is great, it just depends on what the parents can handle! Have fun!

We waited until our youngest was 5, and our oldest was 7. Being Florida residents, it was difficult to wait, but we wanted to be sure she would enjoy it and be able to remember her experiences.
As a big girl, our 5 year old refused to use a stroller and walked every step with us. When she got tired, we just went back to our hotel and enjoyed the pools.
I'm glad we waited. Since that initial visit we have now been 4 more times and she remembers details from each visit.

I went with a 3 yr old and a 6 yr old they really enjoyed it but were too small for some of the rides but had plenty of fun, the ice rink in winter outside the hotel New York is fab, the queues are hardwork with little ones and the day is long sograb a buggy for the 4 yr old you can hire them at the gate. It's a big place so lots of walking but plenty of pit stops along the way for eats and rests. To see the electric parade sit on the kerb of main street at least 20 minutes before it starts otherwise the crowds will block the view. The teacups ride takes small children but the 2 I went with found it too fast so have look before you go.Its a small world ride is great for kidsbut you will be dying to get out of it by the end.LOL. Go if you want make a video tape of the trip then no one will forget it the kidswill love meeting the characters back in the hotel lobbysaround 4-5 pm every day. Have a great time.

They are good ages - if you can go at a time that is not too crowded..... I think the optimal age is 11 - 13.... just my opinion though.....

I would wait until the youngest is about 7ish, as not only will they not remember it but kids get tired easily and its not fair to put them through it.

the long ques in the warm weather is too excriciating for children, most young kids dont enjoy the majority of their time their because they are tired and want to sleep, also you have to think about yourself and the older child you wont enjoy it if the young child is unhappy most of the time. i would wait until they are older and can appreciate it it better.

there are plenty off things over there for children who are young and they will love to see their fave characters so if your child has great energy and a long attention span, because ques are so long you can wait over an hour on rides and food places are always bunged too, by all means take them, if they dont have a great attention span leave it a while.

I'd say 7 plus. I took my daughter when she was 3, and she doesn't remember it, which is a shame.

I would say wait another couple of years. I took a 5 year old and she was a bit disappointed because she was too small for some of the rides.

any age above the point where they can remember the experience. it would be a waste to go when you dont remember anything

6 Old enougth to remember and enjoy and any older than 14 and its a bit "Uncool and Embarrsing"
