I'd live in Venice Beach.
I know what you're thinking... Venice Beach? You can't leave your house at night!
That's okay, I have always wanted to live on the boardwalk on Venice Beach and sell useless junk to tourists...
That would be the life... |

Is Woodland Hills or Irvine close enough?
I've been to both and they were nice. LA was ugly though in my opinion. |

If I had to live in or near LA I would choose the beach areas, such as Santa Monica, Redondo or Long Beach. I was just down there this past weekend and had a really nice day on the beach and pier at LB. Good brew pub nearby.
But, I choose to live outside of LA, in California's High Desert. The air is cleaner, blue skies and I can see stars everynight! |

I lived in Orange County for 30 yrs .... The only part of Anaheim that's really nice is Anaheim Hills:) The rest of Anaheim (especially close to Disneyland) is over-crowded, small so-so housing. ... However, Tustin, Orange and Villa Park are right next to Anaheim and much better places to live |

I liked Chatsworth (northwest edge of the San Fernando Valley). I'm from the country originally and I liked the feel of Chatsworth being near the mountains. I'd get the Midwestern, Southern feel that I'm used to while being near the beach and LA.
Topanga is nice, too. |

I would love to live in Hollywood because it is a big time city and i loved visiting there. Or Laguna Beach because knowing something was that close to hollywood and not as busy was pretty cool. |

You said ANYWHERE. I choose Malibu. You can't beat having the surf right below you. The air is clean and you are just a short limo ride from LA.
Anaheim? No way. The fireworks are too loud. I can hear them every night where I live, about 8 miles from Disneyland. Maybe Fullerton or Yorba Linda or maybe Brea, but not Anaheim. Or Newport Beach. Yeah, that's the ticket. |
