Go up to the top of the John Hancock Building (after dark is my favorite time) and have drinks in the Signature lounge. There are windows all the way around looking out from the 95th floor over the City. Even the restroom walls have windows all the way across. I lived in the Chicago area for several years and this was the favorite activity for my out of town guests by far. It is a tad bit expensive, but well worth it! After that, head down to Gino's East and have some of the best pizza you'll ever taste!

Navy Pier if you are only in town for a short while. There is a bit of everything there, but as someone else mentioned Millenium Park, and the Mag mile are great as well as the Hancock. Also if you are interested in chicago architecture and history they have river boat tours that go all the way down the chicago river and it is really interesting I try to do that with out of town guests.

Chicago bus tour.., the outside facade of the Tribine building (famous artifacts embedded in the walls and Buddy Guy's or Kingston Mine for some blues...there's a mexican joint a few doors down from Kingston that's excellent and cheap.....Peace

Navy Pier, Millennium Park, The museum and the aquarium on Lake Michigan, Michigan Ave (Magnificent Mile), Sears Tower, Harpo Studios. This is all in the downtown area and are some of the most popular attractions. If you get in this vicinity you will be near allot of great restaurants, shops and fun things to see. Have fun Chicago is a blast.

i spend all my hours in chicago but i dont think i visit the mag mile enough...absolutely amazing!!!
