I've only been to Chicago once, it was very nice. Stayed a week. Lots of shopping, great food, a museum too. Awesomeness.
We drove though Detroit on the way to Windsor, stopped for gas. I remember specifically that the gas station was out of Diet Pepsi and only had caffeine free Diet Pepsi, which was obviously not an option. So Detroit therefore sucks. You're welcome. |

Haven't been to either but from what I've seen on our television, Chicago sounds better than Detroit.
On the other hand, I have old friends (from 50 years ago) living close to Detroit so I could depend on them, I hope, to guide me through. |

Been to both cities, this is not a competition, Chicago hands down. Detroit is a city in decline, high unemployment, high crime, deteriorating corporate environment. Detroit is the #2 city in the U.S in terms of violent crime and currently has an unemployment rate of 8% vs. the national average of 4.5%.
Chicago on the other hand is one of my all time favorite cities, so vibrant, tons to do! Its not even close, definately chicago! |
