lol yes!! it dosnt matter where you are from if you go anywhere where there is tax then you pay it.

Robin
I would say you will have to pay sales tax. I live in Ohio where we have taxes on everything. If I go to PA and buy clothes, I don't have to pay tax on them. It goes by the state. Besides, retailers won't ask if you're from out of state, the tax will automatically be rung up when you make your purchase.

Kelly P
Sure, pull out your Oregon ID and insist that since you have lived there, you will refuse to pay taxes in Chicago. That should go over really well.

Yes. And Chicago finds all kinds of ways to make you pay, and pay, and pay. They tax everything they can think of, and they're not looking for ways to let people not pay.

magpie
no, once you are residing in Chicago you will have to get a car license in Illinois, and yes if you reside in Illinois and make a purchase in Illinois, you will have to pay sales tax

I think Oregonians only get that in WA. I have not gotten it in any other state, other than WA.

Also don't forget to learn how to pump gas before you go!

J Rebel
Yes.

If what you was trying to do was acceptable everyone in the USA would have a PO Box from Oregon and a Drivers License with the PO Box as the address

When in Rome do as the Romans.

If you buy something in a state that collects tax's then your responsible to pay the tax.

You can always stay in Oregon and not have to worry about paying Taxes

yes. it matters not where you are from. you always pay sales tax in the state which you are buying something in.

Chris S
yes you do

Bingo!
Yes because you bought it in Illinois.

Pimpin John
You most certainly do, and after about 30 days in your new home, they will relieve you of tat Oregon ID all-together. Ain't life grand???

Ha ha! Yeah, good luck with that.

shoredude2
Washington is the only state where you don't have to pay sales tax if you live in a state that doesn't have sales tax. So you'll be paying sales tax in Illinois.

Go0o0o0 Patriots
Yes but now that I know Oregon has no sales tax ima move there

You pay tax based off of which state the item was recieved in.

Sgt Little Keefe
Hon, what makes you think that'll make any difference, you are using our resources, but don't want to pay our taxes? I am in Chicago and I am appalled at your question.

Bobby J
yes. You always have to pay the sales tax of the state you are BUYING in. Not the state you reside in.

Rex B
I live in Oregon. Why would you trade Oregon for Illinois? Are you insane? Yes, you will have to pay tax there. When in Rome...
