it'll be chilly, the first snow falls at, or around thanksgiving day.
maybe a sweater, jeans, a light coat, and 1-2 shirts. do not bring a heavy coat, just dress in layers because you never know what to expect when you are on vacation. also a scarf. a hat is optional depending on your style.
shoes, just whatever you like makes you feel comfortable walking around. maybe a bit dark to cover all bases such as being in a nicer restaurant and you want to blend in more (smart casual).
as for naked, i don't know if the naked cowgirl (naked except for pasties, playing a guitar), or the naked cowboy (naked except for underwear, playing a guitar) will be in times square in december, maybe not. |

Ny no matter what part of the state is extremely cold in Decemeber- purchase a winter jacket, gloves, boots and a scarf.
Typical winter wear would be best- temps typical go from 35-40 degrees to -10 below with a wind chill.
Be sure to pack plenty of warm socks it is the most forgotten item. Take some sinus medication before boarding the plane (or last change) the cold weather will immediately make your sinuses start up so come prepared and hope for the best. |

first to answer 'fresh...' "has anybody actually been to New York.." YES, I was actually BORN there and December temps can range from the teens to the low 50s (farenheit, of course). I remember one Christmas Eve when my friends and I played tennis on an outdoor court in shorts! Best thng to do is check the long range forcast a couple of days before and pack accordingly. It's always a good idea to bring gloves, hat and scarf but if you forget any of the above fear not, they can be purchased fairly inexpensively just avoid the department stores. If you need to dress warml remember layers work better than bulky. Also a good idea bring sturdy water-proof walking shoes or boots in case there is snow or freezing rain it tends to turn to slush and puddles quickly. |

Uhmm has anyone actually been to NY? In december it's freezing, even in the city. Make sure you bring enough clothes to keep warm. Jackets and pants probably. If you need to dress up then make sure you bring a dressy jacket because inside it'll be warm but outside (even with skyscrapers) the city can be chilly. Shoes, if you plan to be a "tourist" in the city wear comfortable walking shoes. No flip flops or high heels. Wear sneakers or like crocs or something you can comfortably walk around in. Really just imagine a cold climate.
But i guess you may want to pack a few lighter things. There's so much to do in NY you won't be walking around all the time so you need clothes for oding indoor things as well, nice clothes, tees and whatnot
and of course bring a camera. The lights during christmas as well as the tree in Rockefeller center are amazing and you DO NOT want to miss that. Hope your trip goes well |

You'll have to watch the weather carefully several weeks in advance of your visit to make sure but it's usually cold in New York in December so take warm clothes. Have fun! New York is a blast!!!! |

definatly wear winter clothes and boots it can get very cold in ny espically when the wind blows & they get a fair share of snow fall and ice winter clothes is a must or just go as you are because tis plenty of stores to shop in for the appropriate wear |

Well you need a coat hat, ear muff, sweaters gloves, scarf, sweat pants, jeans, (long john's for the men), (and tights for the women), socks good sneaker and boots, because at that time of the year it's cold, and hope you enjoy yourself. |

Don't forget gloves! I've never been to New York but it's farther north than I am and I would say that it gets pretty cold up there. Even though the ocean is up there, it still probably gets really cold. |
