I think you should stay right there, yourself holding to your own needs, in yourself, allow the transition in life as per your parents need also accept it ,Go with the flow and be stronger for it
but if i had a choice san diego weather is hard to beat, and not as expensive to live an frisco, take a trip check it out good first, know exactly what is ahead |

San Francisco is going to have a massive earthquake anyday now. And LA is too expensive. San Diego is warm, beautiful, and is more affordable than LA. San Diego! |

Elizabeth--
I grew up not far from San Francisco. Even now, it's light years ahead of anything in the LA basin. San Diego isn't bad, but I love the Bay Area. My vote say move to San Francisco (or the East Bay).
Be sure you visit Japantown--it's one of my favorite places to shop and eat.
Thanks for asking! |

For sure NOT California!!! What with the economy the way it is right now.... there are TENT cities going up of homeless folks there- check it out online- and these arent poor people either, tis just ordinary families who lost their homes.
And think of how CA will be when the big earthquake hits!! Don't want to be there.
Move somewhere like Alabama.... better winter weather so you don't have the winter heat bills, it has growing retirement population... which needs to be served, so there ought to be jobs opening there. Houses are still reasonable there!
JMHO. I wouldn't move to California at all- I'd be far too worried. |

Why San Diego??
Definitely North Carolina!!!
Its perfect here. WE have the mountains, beaches and flat land.
The weather is usually good too. Sometimes real hot sometimes real cold but never too much to the extreme. |

San Fransisco.
It's a 50/50 coin toss in San Diego to see if you'll lose your house to a wild fire or a mud slide. If you're lucky to still have a house after that, you gotta worry about the sink holes that the tremors bring on. It was all over the i-net a couple of months ago with pics showing this guys house sitting in a sink hole. |

that's quite a difference... what factors are you guys considering? What's important to you guys?
Public School System
University/College rankings
Crime rates
Job Opportunities in a specific field
Water quality
The list is endless. I like both cities San Diego is beautiful if you like the "beach" city life. Since its close to the border - the county has strong spanish architectural influences. I personally love it.
San Francisco also has distinct qualities - great food, fun night life and of course great schools out there. Not to mention the close proximity to Napa and Sonoma. Homes are much smaller and SF has extremely steep housing costs. My sister bought a 2BR condo in Palo Alto for $700,000. Nothing special in it.. no granite countertops...no stainless steel appliances. No elevator!
SF has the best Chinatown in the U.S. Excellent Dim Sum... if you can't go to Bejing or Hong Kong to get the real stuff!
Make your list together as a family on what's important to you guys. I like to use sperlings best - to compare cities. If you google it.. you can compare SF and SD.
Happy Moving! |

Yes, all those places are great to live in. It depends upon what you want as to which place is most suitable to you. |
