depends how much money you have? and what you do for a living? Many factors involved.
Northern CA is nice - around the Peninsula, especially. |

Try doing a holiday that gives you a few days in many different places then at least you don't have to narrow your choices down too much.
Then just choose your favourite. |

Well, you haven't given enough information for anyone to help you all that much. It's a huge country with a lot of variety. It's been said that the 50 states are more like 50 little countries - they differ quite a bit sometimes. I have attached a link with some basic info on the different areas. |

That depends entirely on what you are looking for it is a pretty big country and very diverse as far as culture and ecosystems. If you like the dessert go to Arizona. If you like the beach come to Florida I love it here and it is way cheaper than California. On the other hand Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee are all beautiful. At this point your best bet is to look for a place where the economy is still growing or you will have a hard time finding a job. Good luck there. |

It depends from what nation? America is at one time a melting pot, but some areas are much better to live in than others depending on your nationality. You have to provide details. I would say Miami, Pittsburgh, Nashville, or Phoenix are some of your best bets. |

California and New York are way too expensive and crowded. Trust me, I have lived in both. They're nice, but yeah. It depends if you like rural or urban areas. Montana is really beautiful if you like the country thing. |
