Absolutely, we were in both the Grand Canyon and Vegas last month.
As you know the Canyon is part of the National Park system and is very safe.
If you can, make the effort to visit the Skywalk.
Though NOT part of the National Park system it is closer to Vegas and the views of the Canyon are every bit as sensational as they are on the Southeast rim.
If you are driving be prepared for 12 miles of dirt road; but it is worth it.
Or you can take a bus tour to the Skywalk from Vegas.
Have a look at the official site for the Skywalk:
http://www.grandcanyonskywalk.com/

I have included the link for the Grand Canyons official site also.
You can contact them from this site (email, address and phone numbers are provided) should you want to ask anything.
http://www.nps.gov/grca

And Vegas is full of travelers from all over the world.
Stay on the Strip, use good common sense and you will have no need to worry about your personal safety.
Walk, drive or use public transport (buses and cabs go up and down the strip continually) without concern.

If you are driving from Vegas to the Canyon, you will have the chance to see the Hoover Dam too!

Pink, you need not worry about your safety at either of these places, but it would be more fun to travel to them with someone however.

Yes its safe. Usual rules apply - dont go off down dark alleys or with strange people and dont flash your cash. Otherwise enjoy! I've been to both and both are fantastic!

Its safe if you stay in the tourist areas. Don't go off the beaten path's and wandering on your own and see if you can bring friends with you. Its really a touristy type place so its not to much to worry about. You can always check out the grand canyon web sites.

yeah its fine as long as you don't go too far from the touristy areas!

Of course it's safe! There are a bunch of tourists and you're probably not alone and once you have fun, you won't even realize you're alone. You'll have an awesome time there! Have fun!

Yes, but I would not recommend you hotel hope on foot after dark as some jerk from TimbuckToo will think you are a hooker.

Hey there, why are you going alone? Maybe some of my girlfriends and I can meet you up there? I'm planning on moving to London next year because I have to work on my permits/visa etc. Are you going to Vegas for fun? I used to live there and go OFTEN since I'm only a 3 hour drive away! If I don't hear from you, let me tell you, it is SAFE. There were times when I'd walk around late at night through the strip, alone. It's fine. Just remember not to DRINK ANYTHING from strangers. GO TO THE BAR yourself and get your own drinks. TRUST ME! That's the BEST advise you can get. Anyway, I'm a young lady too so contact me if you want some friends....by the way, we go every September for Labor Day!

Yes it is safe if you keep your wits about you! You know the normal no going with anyone you don't know, don't go in the back dark places & stay were the people are.

It is generally safe, but if you go the the Best Western Squire Inn, in tusayan (like 10 miles out of the park) and you are a teenager they will kick you out because the tourist think your a gang member, which by the way there are no gangs in at the canyon....bast@rds

evertonsue
i have been 5 times with hubby, but if i had to go on my own , i would ,and i would feel no way about it, have a great time.
the trip we took by helicopter to the canyon was with the pilot and 3 other people so you wont be on your own, good luck.

yo!
Yes, it's safe, don't worry.

I'M DANGEROUS!!!=)
oh my god!!!! las vegas is fantantastic!!!
