It's not located "in" any of the parks. It's an entity all on its own. I've stayed at the Riverside hotel in DisneyWorld, and you can take a boat from there or the French Quarter right to Downtown Disney. That's a lot nicer than taking a bus.

It is not inside one of the parks. It is a shopping/resturant area that is accessible to the public without paying for admission. Parking there is also free. There used to be a club/bar area called Pleasure Island, but according to WaltDisneyWorld.com all of the clubs were closed in September.

The Lego store is cool, as is the Rainforest Cafe.

It is a part of the Walt Disney World Resort, but isn't within any of the parks. It is nearest the hotel plaza Blvd entrance into WDW.

downtown disney is NOT located in a disney world park.
it is located with in the disney world resort but it is its own designated area. it has mainly shopping and restaurants. it also has an indoor arcade called disney quest.

Downtown Disney is a separate entity from the four parks. Read all about it (and the parks) at www.allearsnet.com

Mistie L
Downtown Disney is at Disney World, not Disneyland. It is not "in" a park, but is its own separate thing. It has two parts, West Side and Market Place.

http://www.orlandowelcomecenter.com/espanol/images/disney-world-downtown-disney-map.jpg is a map of Downtown Disney, except Pleasure Island is no more.

http://allears.net/btp/downtown.htm has more info on Downtown Disney. It's not really near any of the parks (and no transportation to and from Downtown Disney from the parks). It is a quick boat ride from Saratoga Springs Resort and Old Key West.
