Is $1000 enough for two for six days in Vegas?

My husband and I are planning a trip to Vegas in July. We have had some unexpected expenditures and are now only able to bring about $1000. We already have our airfare and hotel paid for and also have already paid for a rental car. We have a suite at the flamingo and plan to spend a decent amount of time at the pool. We likely will not be able to include any shows in our budget and do not like clubs. We are fairly light drinkers, maybe 2 drinks each a night. We plan on doing a few slots but no table games. Is it possible to have fun in vegas with only $1000 to spend between the two of us? Any suggestions on how to stretch it?

Gambling does not need to be a focus of the trip. We have 2 young kids and will enjoy just getting away.

Budget your money and you will do fine. Take six envelopes and put $166 in each. That is what you can spend each day. When the money from each envelope it finished you are done for the day. Any money left over from each day you can put in the next envelope for the next day. You will be surprised. Look for the two for one deals on everything such as meals. Use coupons .. don't be ashamed .. this town was built on coupons.

If you want your money to last, stay away from the slot machines and PLAY the table games...

I can play $40.00 on Rapid Roulette for a good hour and a half with minimum bets, and usually walk away with my $40.00.

Also, if you don't plan on attending shows or clubs then I think you should be fine on $1,000.00. There are a lot of things to do for free in Vegas. Check out all the hotels and free shows.

Yes, first join the players club at Flamingo. See what specials the hotel is currently giving, you might find the room rate went down and now includes food coupons, etc.

While you are playing the slots you get free drinks, just tip the cocktail $1 and see how nice she returns over and over. Eat at buffets to save money or the coffee shop/cafe where there are early morning and late night specials.

You could see a show for around $80 including taxes like Mystere at Treasure Island or the dinner show Kings Tournament at Excalibur.

Basically, divide the money by each day and you will be fine.

Definitely, especially since your travel expenses and hotel accommodations are already paid for. Your biggest expense will probably be food, and with two small children you will probably only really have to worry about yourselves. Just try not to spend over about $166/night ($1000/6 days) and you'll be fine.

depending on what slots you play....penny, nickel, quarter, etc, i think it's more than possible.....most casinos offer free drinks while you are gambling (not the top shelf stuff, but many choices)....when we were there, we got free tickets to a couple of shows just by being in the casino....from what we understand, when it's closer to show time and the tickets aren't sold out, they give out some free ones to fill up the theater....since your car, hotel and airfare are already paid, you can do it if you watch your pennies....you'll have about $165 per day to spend....as you're walking around the strip, check out the prices in the restaurants to see where you can eat cheaper...also, don't buy a souvenier as soon as you see it; browse around and see if you find it cheaper in another shop.....HAVE FUN!!!!!!

Yes, that is plenty! As long as you budget what you want to spend each night! I recomend putting your winnings in your pocket and keep using the money that you plan to spend each night untill you run out! Many times you will leave with more that you were going to spend that particular night! My wife and I went to Vegas not too long ago and we stayed 7 days with $500 bucks to spend each. Although, i do recomend playing table games like Black Jack, because you dont lose your money as fast and if your playing at a $5 table and everyone else knows how to play, you will win more than you will lose. I do recommened eating the dollar menu for the most part or untill you win some good money! Good Luck!

things on the strip are way over priced so you would need to keep everything on a cheap budget or go away from the strip to eat and do activities

i had already paid for my room and everything and brought $1500 and came home with about $100 left for 2 people.

If you don't do much gaming you will be fine.
Print up the information you find helpful from these sites. They are great:

If you want to leave the car parked but need cheap transportation use the Deuce. Sure it is crowded especially on the weekend but if each of you purchase the $5 24 hour pass you can use it unlimited times in 24 hours. That's much cheaper then gas and valet tips.

Ellis Island on Koval right behind Bally's. Walk during the day but drive at night.
Try the $6.99 steak dinner with Micro-brewery 24 ounce beer. It's not on the menu you have to ask for it. They also have a 24 hour breakfast that's not on the menu. I'm not for sure of the cost. I think $3.99 ??

Sure its enough. Research where you want to eat, check out Restaurant.com for some Certificates, use a promo code and get $25 for $5.
I highly recommend Ellis Island, ask for the Steak Special, not only is it very cheap its very very good also!

Absolutely. You may even have enough to enjoy one show. With all your accommodations already payed for, a thousand will be plenty, especially if you will spend much of your time at the pool. That's about $170 for you both for one day. If you play the slots WHILE you are drinking they will come around and offer free drinks. Always a plus since the cost of drinks there is outrageous. Have fun... it's a blast.

the answer is no! capital no......now my question to you is this.....is it with room and board or without? if it is ....you are going to need spending money ...if it is without you will still need about 800 dollars more to be comfortable and that is without partaking in much activities going on there ......i was there this time last year with my girlfriend and we took about 3500 dollars we omitted much of the things we could have done if we had about 6000 dollars...... trust me everything has gone up due to inflation i am sure it has in Vegas too........

Do yourselves one favor. Eat one meal at Nora's. It's at 6020 West Flamingo. Best Italian food west of the Mississippi.

Call for reservations. And check 'em out on the web.
