My friend, $2000 is enough for a 3 week trip to New York City, just spend it very wise.
Good luck |

Probably not it depends if you like to shop go out and eat. Are you paying for yourself or other people?? You might need to bring anywhere between 500-1500 extra just in case. Good Luck. |

is that including hotels? cause if so you will be tight on money...prices went up in the past couple yrs |

depends on the hotel youre stayin at! and the touristy things you wanna do. if you wanna take a stroll in the park, well, thats different tht shopping on 5th avenue :) |

For two people two def not
For 1 it could last, be wise tourist stores charge twice the price of regular stores. Be wise with spending in nyc it is very easy to go thro 2,000.00 in two weeks. I would want a little more
taking taxis are also expense google things to in ny plan out your trip 500 more would be great |

Well if you don't do any mad spending on things then it will be enough |

Not for me. I would be shopping and seeing the sites like crazy. But for a hotel and food and stuff, it should be okay. |

If you're talking spending in total, including hotel, the answer is a quick no.
Most hotels in NYC, even on Hotwire, will run you at least $150/night, and those won't even be great. $150/night for 3 weeks is $3,150 alone.
If you're just talking about food, clothing and entertainment, unless you like to party like a rock star, you're good.
-------------------------------
If its just you and your home is covered $2k is plenty to just have a good time.
Do wear good shoes, and plan on walking or subwaying everywhere you need to go- you don't really need taxis except to and from the airport.
Have fun! |

If you stay at a hostel or try http://www.couchsurfing.com you will save A LOT of money and 2,000 will be enough to spend on shopping and tourist attractions, but you would still need to budget. If you stay at a hotel i think $2,000 will barely cover 2 weeks... Also look for deals, like I know that the MOMA is free admission on fridays from 5-7 at night, and normally is $14! |

If you don't have to pay for a hotel, this should be fine. It depends on where you eat and how much you want to spend on shopping and such. You could spend 10 times that much if you wanted to. |

Depends on your habits. That would be enough for me. You may have a higher priced taste than I do. Always take a little more than you think you need. Maybe go for 2,500.00. |

it depends if you are planning on staying at a hotel or have someone to stay with
if you are staying for free than yea, you could scrape by for three weeks. you will be able to eat, but you won't be able to do much entertainment wise
if you are staying in a hotel, than no, that is not enough. triple that |

For me no, but if you spend it very wisely then maybe. NYC is so expensive. I would take more if you can. |

That's about $100 a day. Do YOU think that this is a sufficient amount for what you'll want to do there? Were it me, I'd want to have at least another $1000 available, whether in cash or a credit card. The city can be damned expensive. |

It depends if you're planning on shopping or not. Are you going to eat out or cook? Also, do you have a car or are you going to use the subway?
I would take about $3000 just to be safe. |

Probably not, lodging let alone will run you anywhere between 2100 and 4200 dollars. Unless of course you plan on sleeping on somebodies floor. and if that's case, your probably a bum, and your expenditures are zero to none thanks to hand outs and dumpster escapades. |
