Depends what you are going to do there ... if you are just gambling and partying, yes it probably is too long. If you are exploring all the hotels and taking trips sight-seeing etc it is nowhere near long enough.
Try a combination of the two ... and set yourself separate budgets of gambling money and spending money - and stick to them. You'll have a great time, you will probably be a bit poorer in cash but a bit richer for the experience - it's a brilliant place to visit!

Not if you have the money for it!!

Absolutley not!!! I have had severl holidays there where i have stayed 10-14 nights. ration your "playing money" and dont bet too high and it last a lot longer than you think. pick a hotel with a nice pool and spend some time there during the day, and if you go in summer sleep during the hottest part od the day- vegas is best explored after dark anyway :)
If you do stay longer than 7 days and you have car, consider driving to the grand canyon and staying overnight in one of the lodges- there are some great deals going and you can watch the sun rise/sunset over the canyon- a sight missed by thousands of visitors on the whistlestop canyon flights

I love Vegas. I have been 6 times so I consider myself a 'professional'. The longest I ever stayed in Vegas was 6 days. I was about to die. Too much partying and that was when I was in my 20s. Vegas it's great...so much fun. There's just so much to do that 5 days is about enough.

It depends on how much money you have

margarita
Not as long as your money holds out.

It's just about right and then I was ready to come home.

Careful - pickpockets and soliciters are everywhere. Keep your wallet in front pocket for guys - and girls need a "belt type purse worn around your waist".

A thought to consider - if you want points, every casino has the "key card" to get your them. You establish a credit account.
They do a credit check on your, and they have your credit report.
Everyone knows what you owe, and every credit card you have, because when your name pops up for casino ID, they instantly have tons of information about you.
That is their "COMP" PROGRAM, and every casino has one.
If that is what you want, you will get just that.

No thanks, no comp program with my credit report advertised to anyone in any casino for me!

But if you want to have fun: Read on -
There are many deals at expedia.com and travelocity.com
lasvegas.com

There are casinos everywhere - so don't feel you have to lose all of your money at one location.
There are roller coasters on top of tall buildings.
There are white tigers on the first floor side area of the Mirage.
There are outside shows at Treasure Island.
Gambling:
There are many where you can lose $50 without even trying, then win $10, then win another $50.
It's easy to lose $100+ a day minimum, so if you're smart
you'll back away if you lose $20 - and try your luck another time, or another day.

Best location, and I stayed there January 2006, was the Mirage and it's next to Treasure Island, across from Venetian Grand canal, and down the street are Bellagio and the Eiffel tower.
You can walk everywhere, or take the bus when your feet get tired (very cheap).

Don't forget to lunch at the Eiffel tower - pricey but great, great food, and across from the fantastic Bellagio fountains that have themes - yes dancing fountains w/music when you're outside to hear.

Lunch also at the revolving restaurant -where you can see all of Vegas during the day - THE STRATOSPHER. The food was magnificent and you can see if you go at lunchtime - where the people of Las Vegas live and the mountains that surround it.

Las Vegas - I saw Jay Leno and he was non-stop for 1 & 1/2 hours of jokes, and we got the last 2 seats in the far section, and it was still somewhat close because the entertainment area was well done!

We went to see Mystere show - and the best is called "O" which means water in French. The stage actually opens for people to dive into, and then closes for people to walk on it.
So amazing.

At the end of 7 days, I was ready to come home. It's exciting, but not enough to say, wow someday I'd consider living there.

GOD bless us one and all, always.

i stayed in Vegas for 7 nights and i hardly slept and still didn't do half of the things i wanted so I'm going back.

best thing to do is buy a guide book and plan a few things do in one night - like all the free shows. its easy start at one end and just walk to each show and be in time for the show at the next hotel.

also go to the fashion show mall because there is a ticket booth on the bottom floor u can buy very cheap show tickets sometimes less than half price. if you keep you receipt you get into the priority line and get served first.

The female impersonator show at riviera is great, but make sure you take a jacket, its gets a little chilly under the air conditioning!!

Dont miss a helicopter flight over the grand canyon, its breath taking! being so close, its completely unmissable! the night flight over the las vegas strip is great as well!

check out a couple of websites below!

I've been six times to vegas and still have not seen everything.I've been 3 times for 4 days and 3 times for 7 days and me and my wife wife love it.

It depends on your pocketbook. How much can you afford to lose? 3-5 days if usually plenty of time to see the major sites, gamble a little, enjoy the night life, buy souvenirs, then catch your plane back home. Have fun...

Princess Buttercup
I don't think I would want to spend 7 nights there, but if you are really into gaming and shows, then it should be fine.

During the day you *can* take day trips. Hoover Dam, Red Rocks, and even the Grand Canyon can be reached from Vegas.

Personally, I never spend more than 3 nights there.

One weekend is enough or you might leave broke.

I personally would have to say yes. My husband and I spent seven days there in October. The first two or three days were fun, but I guess maybe because we are well into our thirties, we were all partied out at that time. Also, we are not poor or cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but it is way too expensive to be there that long. If you consider that unless you are a high roller, you really aren't going to get any comps, you have to buy three meals there per day per person. Someone told us that the buffets were cheap and good, but I do not consider $37.00 per person for the buffet to be a good price. We did not want to blow all of our money at the tables to rate the free drinks, so we ended up buying a lot of our own drinks too! It is fun, but only in small doses. And just a bit of advice, do NOT stay at the Las Vegas Hilton. It was pricey, and a complete dump!!!
