Is Houston hotter than Florida?

I was looking into relocating from Florida to Houston. I have not yet been to Houston but I hear that the heat in Houston is far worse than the heat in Florida is that true?

It all depends on where you are moving in Florida. Florida also has huge lightening storms...which have many cloud to ground strikes. You have a good chance of being hit.....as I learned while we were visiting in Disney World. They made us all go indoors during these storms. You also have to look at how many times Florida has been hit by hurricane or tropical storms in the past 5 years. I would rather live in the Houston metro area and know that while it may be hot, the place I have chosen to live is not in for a hit from Atlantic hurricanes!

It's not hot today (46 degrees). It's very humid in the summer, so it always feels hotter, most of the time their is no cool breeze.
I would say I felt hotter in Dallas,Tx. Than in houston.

I've lived in both. I first hated Houston...I arrived in the summer and it was so hot. I couldn't do anything and spent all my time in movie theaters.

The next year, however, I got used to the heat pretty well. This was partly because it didn't bother me as much, and partly because I learned to do my activities when it was a little cooler. For example, I went jogging in the evening. If you go to Memorial Park at 10 PM, it is packed with people exercising! Then I learned to love Houston and was really sad when I had to move on.

So...short answer...don't let the heat/weather dissuade you, your body and mind will get used to it but it may take a year.

it depends..houston weather is ****** crazy....

one day it might be 110 degrees and the next day it might be 36 degrees....

but during the summer it is really HOT, iv been to florida and at times it is hotter...the thing is tht houston gets even hotter cuz of the humidity....

iv lived in Houston my whole life so i have gotten used to it, it takes a while to get used to it, but ur frm florida so it shouldnt be tht bad...i had a friend who moved down frm Michigan...it would crack me up when it was 100 + degree to watch them suffer..lol

but houston is cool

I just moved from Sarasota 3 months ago. I lived there for 5 years roughly. I would have to say that I think they are the same. There is a level of acclimation that has to happen no matter where you live. I was in the military and have lived all over. The most humid place I have experienced was Fort Bragg NC, the hottest was Afghanistan. You just couldn't escape it. I live in Seabrook, close enough to the water to still get a breeze. It will definitely depend on where in Texas you go.

I found the city of Houston to be hotter and Galveston to be Muggier. It reminds me more of Miami in the summer and Jacksonville in the winter. Hope this helps.

It is more humid which makes it feel hotter the weather is pretty crappy here compared to Fla so I would only move here if you want a cheaper place to live.
