Uh yeah, I'm sure it'll be all swept under the rug just like everything else he's done. Funny how the same people always coming to Kwames defense here. Probably "homies" of his. Why is the defense these people keep spitting that this issue was a long time ago and he and his wife worked it out so we should leave it alone? Whooptie dooo! I didn't know his wife had the ability to grant immunity.He's scum, has always been scum, and always will be scum. First he steals taxpayer money to buy a shiny new Navigators for his family, then he covers up the murder of a stripper leaving his house, now he's been busted lying on the stand. To help cover up his infidelity he fired reputable and moral detectives, something which, let's face it, Detroit needs more than any other major city in the nation. On his watch Detroit has done nothing but further degrade into the laughable toilet it is today. Why do detroiters want him back, do I need to say it? OK, he's Black, there I said it. I'm not racist I just can't see a real reason this scumbag keeps getting re-elected. The only other thing I can think of is that a city of criminals wants criminals to lead them. Detroit's even a bigger laughing stock today, thanks to Mr. Kilpatrick, and this time he can't dance his way around the facts. Detroit's dying, there's no denying it. Anyone who makes money in Detroit doesn't live there, and for good reason.

I'm glad for those two officers, they blew the whistle on his corruption, he fired them wrongfully, and now they're laughing all the way to the bank.

Ms. Worthy has already annouced she will conduct a slow and deliberate investigation.

Nothing in her past indicates she and the Kwame are friends at all, nothing indicates she is beholding to him at all.

She knows that she is elected by Wayne County, which includes Detroit, Livonia, Canton, Northville, Allen Park, Melvindale, Dearborn, etc.

If she doesn't file charges, she'd be foolish as her re0election is coming up this year; so, she will file charges.

But she may just throw the case, "by accident" or "proceedural" oversight and allow Kwame and Kwistine continue their special-time at the Residence Inn Room 311

This is a repeat of the Clinton scandal. I frankly don't care where or what they did with their penis, what I do care about is how do you trust someone who will lie over something that's really trivial to the rest of us. You cheat its your problem and you have to answer for it ( to your partner, God, whomever) but when you lie about it then it does affect me. When you lie on the stand or to the police or whomever you take a trivial matter and make it perjury rather than manning up to it and letting people forget about it. You would have though the mayor would have taken some notes from Clinton, but maybe he thought he could do it better

No, she will not fall into the trap. However, I will say she will be very careful about how far to push this investigation. It will be the best interest of the taxpayers if she gathers all the information she can and turn it over to the FBI so that they may investigate even deeper.

Kwame Kilpatrick might be investigated but the sad truth is, he is going to get away with it. Why? Because Detroit is the Most Corrupt City in the United States in America. For the last 30 years, they keep electing Corrupt Crooks who are a bunch of Lazy Incompetent And Reckless Sinners who DO NOT serve the citizens of Detroit, they DO NOT care about the citizens who have ideas to better improve the city, and they DO NOTHING to make Detroit a better place.

I currently reside in Atlanta Area and although I am from Detroit Area, I have noticed major changes between the governments of Atlanta and Detroit and here are the three biggest changes I have seen;

1. In Atlanta, the government actually has compassionate leaders who actually care about the citizens of Atlanta. If you go to city hall and you provide a suggestion on ways to improve the city, the city will listen and take your suggestion into considerations.
Detroit is the opposite. In Detroit, the governments DOES NOT have compassionate leaders who ACTUALLY DO NOT Care about the citizens of Detroit. If you go to city hall and provide a suggestion on ways to improve the city, the city will NOT LISTEN and take your suggestion into considerations.

2. In Atlanta, Mayor Shirley Franklin is a respectable leader and is considered as one of the greatest mayors in America according to TIME Magazine. Under Mayor Franklinâ€™s leadership, the cityâ€™s population is growing, the economy is growing, and Atlanta is becoming a place for people from all over the world to live, work, and enjoy life.
In Detroit, Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is NOT A RESPECTABLE LEADER is considered as one of the WORST MAYORS in America according to TIME Magazine. Under Mayor Kilpatrick leadership, the population is on decline, the economy is going down the toilet, and Detroit is becoming a place where citizens want to leave the State of Michigan and move elsewhere in the country.

3. In Atlanta, the city does not rely heavily on the State of Georgia for financial assistance. Although Atlanta is the capital of the State of Georgia, Governor Sonny Perdue serves all Georgia Residents and the City of Atlanta does not rely heavily on the state for financial assistance and the City of Atlanta can thrive without the states assistance.
In Detroit, the city DOES rely heavily on the State of Michigan for financial assistance because without the states help, the City of Detroit WOULD GO OUT OF BUSINESS. Although the capital of Michigan is in Lansing, Governor Jennifer Granholm only cares about Detroit and is not concerted about the state as a whole. In the 2002 Gubernatorial Election, Granholm said that the State of Michigan can not survive with the City of Detroit. I disagree with her because the State of Michigan can survive and thrive without Detroit. Detroit CANNOT survive or thrive without the state of Michigan.

Detroit does need change, but I do not see it ever happening if Detroit keeps electing Corrupt Crooks who are a bunch of Lazy Incompetent And Reckless Sinners. If Detroit ever wants to get the respect it deserve, they either need to STOP ELECTING DEMOCRATS since they DO NOTHING for the city, or elect a mayor of Richard Daley of Chicago. Although Daley is a Democrat, he is a Hard Worker who gets work done and he is very successful in helping Chicago thrive and prosper.

Finally, I believe Detroit will host the Summer Olympics before Kilpatrick goes to prison or resigns from office and since Detroit WILL NEVER HOST THE SUMMER OLYMPICS, Detroit will keep having Kilpatrick as mayor and will keep reelecting him despite the fact he is just a Lazy Incompetent And Reckless leader who Lives In Everyday Sin.

Detroit mayors always get away with all kind of stuff. Coleman Young did for years! Kilpatrick will too. People will raise a little cane about it, but in the end they always get away with their misdeeds.

I'm so sick of Detroit and it's problems. I compare it to a woman who won't leave an abusive relationship. No matter how many people encourage her to leave him . . . she just keeps going back. It reminds me of a quote I just read, "Don't argue with ignorance, they'll drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience". Just keep re-electing the hip-hop mayor and live with the consequences.

I'm also sick of the delusional people saying how great Detroit is. Have these people ever been to a successful functioning midwest city and see how it's run ??? Is it really hard to believe Detroit has the reputation it does ??? All stereotypes are based on some truth. Think about it.

On the Kym Worthy question ... yes, she will file charges against Mr. Kilpatrick and her star witness will be Christine Beatty.

Now, whether he is convicted might be another thing, but we can always hope.

I dont feel that she would be looking out for our brothers, if your meaning it the way I think you mean it. I think people are only making a big deal about this situation because he is a public official. His personal life is none of our business, To be honest Detroit has came a long way because of him. When I was younger Downtown Detroit use to be crap, containing burned and abandoned buildings. Ever since he became the mayor it is looking like a city where tourists can enjoy their visit. I do feel he was wrong lying under oath. he could have said we had a brief affair, but people are attacking him because he is young and they are jealous.
So to say she would be looking out for our brothers is the wrong thing to say, she would just be doing the right thing by not prosecuting him. If his wife is okay with it all, then everybody else should too. Also taxpayers are getting $600 for the messages, so they should just shut up, take the money and stop worrying abour Kwame.

Um, she's going to need somebody to testify against him before she can get a conviction. Do you think he will testify against himself? Do you think the text messages are enough to get him convicted? What if he send a text message saying he had committed rape and murder, would that be enough to get him convicted, or would they need evidence and testifying witnesses, just like are required in all other criminal trials in this country?

Please, Detroit is an awesome place. I find it odd that you are intelligent enough to ask such a good question but still are not allowed in the city? You should take the reigns from your parents and live your own life (unless you are still a minor).

Some of the best things in Michigan are located in Detroit.
