Yes it is but not necessarily downtown. There many places to go in Southern California. You should check out Venice Beach while you are there too among the other many tourist places.

Very! I went to there this summer XD. Great colleges and DISNEY LAND >:D Yea also go to San Diego! There is also a ripleys belive it or not in hollywood.

I think LA is by far the most disgusting, dirty, slimy city in the world. The air is brown, the people are scummy and there is nothing interesting about the city at all.

Have fun at the beach and enjoy the beautiful brown sky!

I live in Huntington Beach, California, about a 30-45 minute drive to LA... Los Angeles is awesome! And very sunny [especially in the summer] if you have light skin, like me, make sure to apply block pretty good... And if you are good at getting a tan bring some tanning oil and you will have a verrryy nice tan in no time!! :]
It can get kinda crowded out there but, there are other parts that are not as busy.
And, if you are bringing a guy or anything when the sun is setting its the perfect time to walk on the beach with your husband/boyfriend or whatever...

well it all depends on what you like, if you like big cities then yes it is there is a lot of cool places around L.A. But if you like more rural areas then L.A. is definitely not the place to visit.

I went there with my family in June of 2005 and had a wonderful experience. We went to Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Hollywood and even took a day trip to see San Diego. The weather is great too if you like it sunny I would go again if I could.

You know it really depends on the person, I personally love LA. There are so many great sights, restaurants, shops, beaches and more. A lot of people think that LA is too crowded though, which I agree with, it can be pretty overwhelming. My suggestion would be to stay in or around santa monica. It's closer to the beach, less crowded, not as hot or muggy, and on top of everything, BEAUTIFUL. its a short drive to LA from there, so you could go for a day or two, but still have a nice place to relax at the end of the day. :)

its a great place and there's so much to see and, if you don't like sightseeing, you can just relax in a cafe!

if youre going to california, LA is not the place. Go somewhere closer to the beach like huntington, Santa Barbara, orange county. Laguna or irvine.

In LA there is pretty much just the beach. And all the beaches are crowded. Where i like to go is Del Mar. Everything is not overpriced and crowded.

I've lived there and loved it. It is slightly expensive though. But if you love the beach, warm weather and a city-like atmosphere, it's the place for you! Venice is a great place to visit while in Los Angeles.

lots of places in L.A. are cool. but ! and i mean but ! ;there are places you can lose your life real quick. so be real careful where you go. especially at night time. do your homework before you go there.
