yes it is. In fact a 500 dollar apartment in Atlanta will cost you about 1500.00 in New York City. Almost every road leading into the city is a TOLL ROAD OR TUNNEL. A 9.99 meal here at K.F.C. will cost you 14.99 there. Not to mention the sales tax that others have mentioned already. |

It is more expensive than Atlanta, but I honestly think parts of Connecticut are pricier, such as Greenwich. |

Yeah, hon. It's a lot more expensive, for a lot less space. It just depends on whether it's worth it to you. Atlanta is considered the New York of the south by some, but it is still the south. That said, I'm about to move there, and I looked at places in both cities. |

Way more expensive. For a really, really tiny apartment it's like 500k.
Plus, typically (not in all cases, like California) the Northeast is more expensive than other parts of the country. |

My Brother -in-law owns a one half of a duplex in Queens. It has 2 small bedrooms, two tiny bathrooms, a medium size living room and a tiny kitchen, It also includes a unfinished basement and a garage for one car and uncovered parking for a second car.
It is valued at over $1,500,000 |
