I went last Nov. Bring a light jacket, it can get cool especially at night. I went most of the time without a jacket though. The weather changes quickly, can be sunny one minute and gets very foggy the next.

It's a great time to visit. November kicks off the rainy season. The Temperature is a bit cooler but you will have a great time. Summer is the best but with 65 degree average all year long you might get some sun in. Besides it's the slow season so you won't have to wait for hours to ride the cable car.

September and October are better, as the weather is clear and warm then. November is hit-or-miss. It will be getting colder and may rain. It's a busy time of year in the hotel business there, so you may want to consider a rental condo somewhere in the city.

well, it's sort of foggy and cold that time of year, so i would recommend april or early fall - it's much nicer then, as far as the weather. in summer, there are just too many tourists.

any time is good. but when your there if you have a car drive down highway 101 to san jose santa cruze it=nto capitola. then to whale watching off monterey and carmel it is fantastic look the places up on a web site, i lived in capitola for 2 yrs, if you have time go over thebay bridge into nappa valley for some free wine tasting.
you can see most ov san fran in 2 days ie pier and alcatraz the castro etc... have fun

October is the best month to visit San Francisco.

baxtero@sbcglobal.net
The best time is right now, NOvember! Little to no fog, upper 60s and sunny during the day, 50s at night. November starts the rainy season, still not cold but it can be very rainy, especially towards the end of the month.

There isn't a BAD time to go to SF!!!

OK it might get a bit misty and rainy sometimes but it is wonderful.

Even in the rain, San Fracisco is special.

If you don't mind crowded cities, there is never a bad time to visit San Francisco. Take plenty of money.

Anytime is a good time of year to visit San Francisco. Just take along a warm toque and jacket, and get out there and enjoy it. Even the Sausilito ferry is fun, as long as the day is clear.

Amanda S
Oh, yes. The tree lighting in Union Square is that time of year...the day after Thanksgiving. The Nutcracker also starts around the same time (amazing show) Ghirardelli is bright, as is all of North Beach.......
I think i just like the season, but it is great in San Francisco.

chnnewjack
a little bit cold, it rains from time to time, maybe it's not a such good idea.

Mpir
There is no bad time to visit it!!!! Well... ok... if you don't mind earthquakes... ;)

Carole
October and November are great times to visit San Francisco. The summer crowds have died down at a lot of the touristy attractions and the weather tends to be warmer that time of year.

From my girlfriend...

yeah it's lovely, I went a few years ago around this time. It was all crisp blue skies and sunshine, but cool enough to wear lovely jackets and hats.

If you do go, you should head over to the Red Woods a little drive over the Golden Gate Bridge, in the fall (en USA) it's absolutely stunning.

Anytime is a good time to visit San Francisco. Since the weather here is pretty much the same the entire year, it's always a little bit chilly all the time. However, you may be lucky and visit on one of those days that turn out pretty exceptionally warm.
San Francisco is a great city, though. You would have a great time here.

Nevermind frisco go to San Diego!!!
