THE BEAUTY OF THE U.S. IS THAT THERE ARE SO MANY CHOICES OF PLACES TO LIVE AND LIFESTYLES TO LEAD.
THE NORTHEAST IS A FESTIVAL OF UNPREDICTABILITY. TEMPERATURES SWAY FROM -30 TO OVER 100 DEGREES F WITH THE REQUISITE SNOW, RAIN, SUNSHINE, AND EVERYTHING ELSE.

US is better than UK.

Let me tell you as someone who has spent a year in manchester, and a lifetime in NY.... I love the UK for many reasons but there is no greater feeling than being in the greatest city in the world, New york! You will miss many elements of the UK like pubs, and football, but I assure you NYC will make london look like a hole in the wall. Everything is in NYC in some form or another, and there is infinite things to do. People are funny here and the working class/immigrants make the city.

Manchester to me seems like a very large english town, and much like the others.

If you can afford it, NYC is awesome and thrilling. It is also one of the most expensive places to live in the USA.

Austin Texas is GORGEOUS and has better weather. Rolling green hills and lots of trees, if you can imagine that for Texas (I was surprised). The people are polite and friendly, and because of the college it's actually a pretty liberal town. You can rent paddle boats and canoes on the river that goes thru the city for around $10 an hour. Great nightlife. Very affordable compared to NYC (though it's the second most expensive city in Texas).

I visited recently and want to move there :-)

I'm afraid you will also have rain here and become bored..

I don't think where you live that makes life exciting and fulfilling as much as how you live it it and who you live it with. A smile or laugh on the right persons face can light up the darkest place and send warmth throughout the wettest place in our lives and in our enviorment

Certain parts of the USA may be more exciting. I suggest Southern California. Large transient population, proximity to Mexico and Vegas, etc. Overtime though all places get boring.

If you live in Europe already why don't you take short trips to Holland, Ibiza, etc.

dmv question
Unless you go to a LARGE city, you will get bored. No question about it.

And there are no football (soccer) games to watch, unless you go to the schools and look the youngsters play...

If you easily make friends you might be alright, but if you are rather shy, be prepare to rent a lot of movies and stay at home...

It depends. Depends on season, things are happening,
That Stuff. It might also be good because you are gonna be in a new place. So different food, Differnent Stuff...I guess...mostly all of it is new.

Personally, I've lived in the U.S. all my life it's all on how you make of it. Go to a city that's right outside of a big city such as Hartford, Ct 100 miles from New York, 100 miles from Boston
