Yes it's happening ALL over. Watch the news for a change & you'll see reports of odd weather EVERYWHERE.
Here in Southern Calif, we've had high winds & been on fire danger for days at a time (today being yet another one). We've had snow in odd places & temps into the 20s at night. Most of the citrus crops are ruined because the farmers are NOT remembering to use smudge pots, heaters, tarps, etc. It's even affected strawberries & avocados. Several cities have been reported on the news with pipe bursts due to the record freezing temps. |

January has been a devastating cold month for us so far in Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado. The temperature was about 30 degrees colder on the average and we were severely affected by the cold and ice-storms. Dozens of people died during this period and thousands were without power in their homes, many to this day.
Southern California was also hit by cold weather but was spared from the snow and ice. Prices for fruits and vegetables are expected to rise due to the cold weather in Texas and California.
Why are you mentioning your warm weather when millions of Americans have been affected by this unusually cold spell this month? Have you not been reading the papers or watching TV in the last two, three weeks? |

In Belgium, all records are been broken, hottest day, highest minimum, highest maximum since 150 years for november, december, january..
Still is cool (few degrees Celsius above 0) but it should be freezing.
And beside that, birds start nesting, trees start blossoming, all months to early. It's a disaster when it might freeze later.
It's scary. |

don't wanna be rude- but to get the point across: IT'S CALLED GLOBAL WARMING!!!!! some places are unusually hot, and some are unusually cold!!! i just moved to switzerland from TX...right now it is colder in TEXAS than it is in switzerland. Yesterday, the all-time record was set at 80 degrees in January- this time last year, there was like 5 feet of snow in the valley!!!!!
it's just gonna get worse... |

Ohio normally see's snow before Christmas and normally by this time of the year we have around 8 inches on the ground and its been cold in the 30's for well over a month.
This year.....been 50 or better for winter so far till this past week we finally got a shot of winter and snow. Yesterday 5 inches on the ground.....today...maybe 1/2" left...already melted for the most part.
I use to live in Myrtle Beach to escape Ohio winters......so far this year it feels like a Myrtle Beach winter in Ohio just minus the ocean and waves.
The world is watching the weather change directly before our eyes. |

Nope. I live in the high desert of Southern California and we have been experiencing major cold (12 degrees at night). Normally this time of year it doesn't get much below 30 at night. Read some of your other answers and it is called Global Warming, but what many don't realize is that global warming has been going on for centuries. The difference now is man's contribution to the amount stuff influencing the ozone.
Also, as the ice caps melt due to global warming, I have heard that this will cause a temperature change in some of the currents in the oceans, which can bring on changes in weather patterns. |

Well here in South Carolina of course is the same as North Carolina. It has me wondering. As you know we have our chilly days, but not a winter. I'm from Florence, SC just in case you wanted to know. |

Yes, it has also been unusually warm here in the Midwest. We usually have snow much earlier in the Winter Season, sometimes even as early as October (In '97 my city cancelled Halloween due to a blizzard!), but this year we have just recently recieved any accumulating snowfall, within the last few days. So yes, it's odd. |

Darn rights, it's been raining in Alberta here up in Canada. That does not help the snowboarding, that's for sure. |

In the UK we haven't had a bad winter for quite some time (1995/6 was the last bad year I think).
Until yesterday temperatures had been several degrees above normal, it's cold today.
This has been the case for many years now and I really love the snow. In the past I used to wait for it to come to me but now I have to go to it. |

Yes, I'm right next door in Northeast Georgia, no snow, about 5 hours of ice, but a lot of rain. I want it to snow. Winter just isn't the same without some snow, our temps have mostly been in the 50's. |
