Is it cheaper to buy tickets online or directly from the park at Walt Disney World?

Buy directly (in advance) from WDW official website. They have the lowest prices. Every time I go to one of the "discount" sites, their price is always a little higher(they give you a discount off the gate price, not the advance price). I looked at AAA last night, and they led me directly to WDW official site.
Purchasing in advance is a definite discount over purchasing at the gate.

I've purchased brand new tickets on E-Bay from families who have had to cancel their vacations and from this ticket broker. http://www.dwtickets.com/Discount_4day_disney_park_hopper_tickets_s/27.htm

If you're planning on going for 5 days for instance and purchase a 7 day ticket you could sell the remaining days on craigslist or E-Bay as there's a huge "aftermarket" for tickets.

Keep in mind there are two kinds of tickets - no expiration ever and those that expire within 14 days from the first day you use them.

If your buying from Disney online it's the same, but if you buy from a third party you are doing so at your own risk. If the tickets are stolen or were originally sold to someone else, you may get to the turnstiles and be turned away.

Discount Disney Ticket Brokers
By far, the best discounts you can get on Disney passes is through ticket brokers in the Orlando area. These brokers purchase their passes in bulk from Disney World, and all other area theme parks, and offer substantial savings. For instance, a 7 Day Disney Premium Ticket will cost you $435.60 at the gate, as opposed to $405 through a broker. While there are several reputable Disney ticket brokers in Orlando, the one we recommend is The Official Ticket Center on Hwy 535 in Lake Buena Vista.

http://www.officialticketcenter.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=tickets&refer=TC11WT#DSC-TICKETS-OTC

The operation is run by Bruce Carter, and we have no qualms in telling you that it is a top notch operation. Tickets can be overnighted to you (for a cost of $16), sent Fed Ex three day express ($10), delivered to your hotel when you arrive ($5 per order), or you can pick them up at the OTC office directly. You can order the tickets on-line, or call the OTC toll free at 1-877-406-4836 (be sure to mention rate code TC11). Please note that all prices shown include tax.

You get no discounts by buying at the park so yes, buying
on-line or AAA can save you a little

I found them to be the same - however- with that said - suggest you wait till you get to Disney and see what you want to buy tickets for - and at the gate they often have specials - you might NOT want the entire package

AAA if you are a member

Nikky
it depends because online they can give you better price but they than charge u shipping and handling and it comes out more so do some searching

first off its cheaper to go to a travel agent or triple a they have good deals and if you go be prepared to spend alot of money the best time to go is off peak season as the deals are cheaperand they offer more of a discount if you live on the west coast just go to disney land or check with youre travel agent because sometimes its cheaper to fly and go to disneyland and besides disneyworld is sooo over rated and disney land is soo much better oh i forgot check costco they have vacation deals too

Shadowxx1498

Really analyze what things you enjoy..some areas are better than others and you may want to spend more time there....A hopper pass is best in my opinion....there are lots of online deals...just be careful and if you are a AAA member you can get disounts thru them.

WineBuzz
You can buy online and use Will Call or buy them at the gate. Same price.

ANDREW O
Online is cheaper. The website to get them is Mapleleaftickets.com
The discounts are huge on hopper passes and you dont pay sales tax....right now they are offering a deal of buy a four day ticket and get the 5th day for free.
Sales tax at Disneyworld is nuts it is almost 12%
Give the website a try

you can also try ebay, but make sure that the person has good feedback and the tickets do not expire before you go

Same price.

You can also buy them at any Disney Store in your mall. No discounts, but if you know you're going to WDW on a particular date, you can buy the tickets 1 or 2 at a time, to spread the cost out. ($800 for four 3-day park-hoppers at once hurts the wallet!)

Sometimes online deals are really good, but at other times they are just the same or you will have to do a
'special one time offer' along with it. Also, there have been discounts at the park in the past when we have gone there, but you have to be an American citizen (if you're not, then just ask someone else who is to buy them for you). These discounts were usually accompanied with a Ralph membership or Sam's Club.
Try looking at www.craigslist.com in search of some unused tickets for the Disney World Park.
If you can't find any screaming deals online, just stick with the park sales. They aren't that more expensive than anything you'll find on the web or with a store.

The only discounts I know of are those offered by timeshares in the central Florida area. If you're willing to waste 4 hours of your life to save $10, go for it.

i think its the same, call the park and check online. I think discounts are for 3 day passes or florida residents only
