Your concern is well founded. I don't know many people who would give you a hard time, but I am not in NYC and it could be different there - I don't know. I think the concern would be with authorities, myself. It could be a long wait at the airport, a big deal through customs, etc.

I don't think it is smart for Arabs to come here or Americans to go to the middle east at this time at all. I have no problem with Arabs - I don't want to see anyone else get hurt. Hopefully we can all work together to settle the tensions and you can come over in a couple of years.

honestly, we are afraid of and don't like foreigners anymore. Some of us would like to deport all middle easterners. Think hard on this one.

you no what i am an american girl in south carolina my husbansd is hispanic i have come to the conclusion it doesn't matter if you are arabic or not this goverment will racialy profile you if you have brown skin and don't look american.so take your chances people may look at you on the airplane ,but you no what who cares do what you want to. they are real crazy if they think every arabic is a terrorist.welcome to america.have fun

Yes, you'll find some bigots and even racists here, but youâ€™ll also find that a lot of people here are peaceful. The majority here I think is mainly based towards peace, freedom, and equality. Like in the Arab world, donâ€™t judge the views of the many by the actions of the few.

If you want to visit your friends, then do so. Who cares about your ethnicity other than bigots and idiots? We're certainly not rioting in the streets to keep people of Arab descent out, so if you feel that you want to come over and see your friends, please do so feeling that you are welcome.

You should come. We have almost everything here! Beautiful beaches, mountains, amusement parks. It will be very different and interesting for you. Most people here are good people, just like anyplace else. No one will know you are arab unless you tell them, and even if you do they won't be rude. I tell people I am Iranian and they think it's interesting.

there are lots of people in America from Saudi Arabia....that live peacful lives.....you might get some headaches at the airport....but after that you should be ok.

Of course, if you only mean the USA then you should inform yourself about any troubles you may have when entering the country, due to your looks and name they might give you a hard time at the airport. Once you see your friends and walk on the street you will soon find out that it is no different than anywhere else... some people will like you and some won't.

But don't forget: AMERICA is huge, North America, Central America and South America, IT IS ALL AMERICA!!!

of course! I grew up in southern california and I always had friends from different ethnic groups and it was never an issue. ALthough some parts of the US are quite conservative so i wouldnt say that all americans are open minded. If you go SoCal youd be fine.

You should be OK, but there are places in the US that aren't safe for anyone. Stay at a friend's house and don't go anywhere alone until you learn which neighborhoods to avoid. I think you should come to the US because you might really have a fun time. Good luck!

You'll be fine. We have tons of Arabs who live here and even wear the full head dress and whatever else.

At my doctor I saw this lady in a full black robe, completely covering her head and face, you couldn't see one inch of skin, and her cell phone rang and she answered it, holding it outside of her covering. I found that kind of amusing.

You probably don't dress that way anyway... but if you do, then you might get some looks, but no one should bother you, especially if you are with friends.

The United States is divided into Blue States and Red States. If you go to a Blue State you should be fine. I would not go to a Red State though. Too many of Those People have been taught to fear and hate foreigners especially non-christians.

You should be fine. But I would follow these couple of tips: I would make sure your beard is long and bushy, wherever you go carry a bulky back pack, never look anybody in the eye, never walk places when you can run, and don't bother to shower or use deodorant, we in America like the natural smell of people.
