Good guy

Is it safe to walk the vegas strip(from mandalay bay to sahara) at night?

Is the Sahara hotel in a safe area since it's in the strip?

You are fine!! The police are everywhere. People act like it is sooooo dangerous!!!! I live here.

Yes. The Strip is great to walk at night! It will be a LONG walk from Sahara to Mandalay but it will be a fun walk with lots to see!

i think it is. we stayed at the stratosphere and would walk along the strip at night, we never felt unsafe or anything. just try not to get off the strip.

He Won My State :-)
I do it every time I go. (STUPID tradition). It is safe but Very Very long. We usually take one day and walk all the way from Mandalay to Stratosphere and stop at different hotels along the way. It takes us about a half a day then we go to Sahara and monorail back up. By the time we get back to our hotel we are tired, cranky, and vow to never do it again (but we always do).

As any where in the world, watch your back and be smart about your decisions. NO SIDE ALLEYS

its pretty safe. its constantly busy and very well lit up. i used to do it all the time when i went to vegas..i would walk all hours of the nite..from one end of the strip to the other. tho now adays yes you have to use just a bit more caution as things have changed...but thts just pure common sense anyway. go have fun and dont worry to much. :)

It should be safe for Superman. Yes, it is safe and even fun. You can walk with beers in your hand so be sure to stop at the Circle Ks and Seven Elevens for your refill.

Silly-Me
very long walk

I've walked from one end to the other at night multiple times. I've never had a problem. Just make sure you keep your valuables close at hand.

Most definitely. The first time I went was with my BF and his buddy. I never saw them the whole trip so I did my own thing all day and night. I've gone many, many times since, by myself! I even walked all the way from the Strip to Fremont St. at night, alone! That was a bit "shadier" back then than it is now so I'd feel even safer now. Like someone else said: there are so many other people around, (you're really never alone)! Just stay aware of your surroundings at all times, day or night, in and out of the casinos and shows.

What you should know is that the Sahara hotel is located at the top of the Strip (only other hotel above it is Stratosphere). It is safe (my hubby and I walked around there at 12am and we were fine). However, it is not pratical to walk from Sahara to Mandalay Bay which is at the other end of the Strip. If you plan on walking a lot I would recommend staying Mid Strip at Paris or Harrah's. There is a bus called the Duece but it was always crowded (day and night) and we ended up walking most of the time anyway (and wasted a lot of time doing that). Hope I helped.

Just be street smart and know whats around you, but its pretty safe

Yes.
1. It has very good sidewalks, crosswalks, and pedestrian bridges the whole way, even where construction is going on.
2. It's well lit the entire way.
3. There are plenty of other people around.

Who-Me?
I stayed at the Stratosphere, and chatted up a local cop as I am one in Texas. He recommended that we not walk the strip between the Sahara and the Stratosphere at night. There are a lot of dopers in Naked City, just off the strip in that area. I have walked the strip down at the other end at night many times and personally have never had a problem. AS a previous poster suggested, no expensive jewelry, keep your money hidden and where you can feel it, don't talk to strangers, and hang onto your camera - just common sense.

it's totally safe, but not wise. there might be some people drinking and stuff, but it's safe.
There is a little miny sub that goes from the excalibur to mandalay bay, it's really convinient. I would suggeset not walking at night from mandalay bay to the sahara only because you'll be really, really exhausted.

Safe yes, smart no. It is 4 miles to get there and another 4 to get back

it's not really safe to walk anywhere after dark especially Las Vegas. I bartend at Audigier and we tell our customers to take cabs everywhere they go and never walk the Vegas Strip at night.

iltmaemc
sure just be street wise.
no jewelry
no eye contact with strangers
actually very safe because so many people around
