Yes, we love beer and football, although the Browns suck. We are hardcore fans and we root our team on no matter what. Cleveland is a City full of people who strive for our sports to finally win a freakin' championship, but it never happens. This year is the year!! |

It might be true in some parts of Ohio, but at least in Cleveland we are also crazy about our baseball team the Indians, and our basketball team the Cavs (especially with Lebron James this year). In Cleveland it is hard not to like beer when you have Great Lakes Brewing Company headquartered there. It is definately some of the best beer in the country. The dive bars in Cleveland are really fun places too. Ever see the Drew Carey Show's Warsaw bar? Well there are a lot of bars actually like that in Cleveland.
But to answer your question I would have to say this is generalization. There are a lot of sports fans, but there are a lot of people into the art scene in neighborhoods like Tremont and Little Italy and all the museums in University Circle. Ohio has A LOT of universities and some extremely reputable ones, so there are a lot of out-of-state people going to school in Ohio and there are many neighborhoods filled with very intellectual professors and other intelligent people.
Some people are big into recreation on the lake, which is really big in Northern Ohio during the summer, as well as cycling and other things in the Cleveland Metroparks. The Cuyahoga Valley National Park is one of the top five most visited national parks in the country. There are a lot of nature centers and efforts to preserve wildlife habitants. So some people are really big into the outdoors and nature here.
We also have your typical nightlife districts like the fun and casual Flats, and then the trendy and upscale Warehouse District. Not everyone drinks beer either. Northern Ohio has a lot of vineyards and wineries. There are also an increasing amount of martini and wine bars in major Ohio cities.
There are a lot of music snobs in Cleveland. Some people are indie rock music snobs and are constantly going to shows at the Grog, Beachland, and Agora music venues. Others are jazz snobs and go to Bop Stop, Nighttown, Boulevard Blue. Others are classical music snobs and go to the Cleveland Orchestra, or shows at the Cleveland Institute of Music, or Oberlin College's Music Conservatory.
There are really all different types of people in Ohio. You do have a lot of diversity, sophistication, and people with different tastes and lifestyles in major metropolitan areas. And then outside of the major metropolitan areas there are probably a lot typical small rural towns and also typical small blue collar towns. Ohio has a lot of surprising contrasts that a lot of out-of-state people aren't really aware of. |

That's called a stereotype and it's not at all true. We have Ohio State, the best football in the country and two professional football teams, so of course we're going to drink. |

It certainly depends on what age group you are in. Ohio is certainly a football state with Ohio State and many fine college football teams. You won't find any babies or oldsters drinking beer. |

It seems that way but there are so many different kinds of people here. I hate beer and watching football makes me sleepy.
I like wine and tennis. |
