Depends which movies you watch.
I love it, been there three times so far and can't wait to go again sometime. |

You didn't state your age. Not that is important. It just that LV has something to offer any age group(21 +) and entertainment, clubs and live music for any interest. There is recreation from gambling, coach tour buses, gambling, to ATV excursions and helicopter flights. OH did a forget casino gambling. lol
Since my 1st trip to LV in 1997 I have not vacationed anywhere else. |

it depends on what you are looking for, if you want all the glamour of people in suits and ballgowns, then probably not, at least i didn't see any of those.
for me it was so much better than i had ever imagined, i had that much fun i'm going back next year, i think it's a great place to go to, but obviously it's not to everyones taste, but where is |

It's what you make of it. I know people that have zero interest in Vegas, but I love it. (It's even better with unlimited money!) |

Just got back from Vegas, and really wasn't that impressed. Only other time I was there was back in '92 and thought it was much more fun then. At least now I know that "been there, done that" and no need to do it again. |

What you see in movies is not the real Vegas. You see people driving up the Strip and suddenly going the opposite direction. But the life on the Strip can be very exciting if a person can control themselves to know when to stop gambling or drinking, etc. And prostitution is NOT legal in Vegas, only in Pahrum which is 69 miles away.
Unlike the shows like Las Vegas on TV, casino security do not deal with the bad guy or chase them. They leave that to the Gaming Officials or Metro. |

You better believe it, but you got to have a good amount of cash to enjoy all that it has to offer. Probably a grand minimum to really get your rocks off..
But you can make do with less, you just won't have the movie type of fun you're asking about. |

I have lived in las vegas for almost 20 years, and the answer to your question is NO! after the mob was run out of town, all the winning and fun,as well as the law and order went with them! To give you just a little insite, on the strip,a pack of cigs, 10 bucks,a 8 oz bottle of water, 8.50. dont expect anything, and i do mean anything for free. if its been more than 5 years since you have been, dont expect the same 20 dollars to win you a flat dime! its more like 200 bucks may get you 5 mins of playing time. |

* Yes, absolutely. And just as bad, too. |

We went about 18 months ago - I didn't really like it but I can see how people would if that is your thing. It was a bit seedier than I imagined. I didn't like all the flyers for "getting a woman" with pictures of naked women thrown all over the street after they have been handed out to people who don't want them. So in my opinion the movies make it out to be alot more glamourous than it really is |
