Is moving to Dallas Texas a good idea?

Dallas is a growing, thriving area... we call it the Metroplex because of its expansiveness. We stretch out to Fort Worth, and have great suburbs all around. Housing is more affordable than in a lot of parts of the country ($200,000 buys a very nice house in most parts here). If you're looking for employment, you have a lot of options in Dallas. If you like a somewhat upscale, but still laid-back atmposphere, this is definitely the place. It does get hot in the summer, but believe me, it's better than a summer in New York (though I still love NY!). Our traffic can be bad, but we're building a lot of new highways. Public transportation is weak, though we're trying to build it up with our new light rail system. There are pros and cons to the city, just like any other, but overall it's a great place to live and work. Please feel free to email me any specific questions you have: benread_at_yahoo.com

There is nothing wrong with dallas. I live right outside dallas in Irving and I love it out there. Its so nice. And there are fun things to do too!! So I say fo for it. Its nice!

That's going to depend a lot on what you want in where you live. Dallas is a typical big city with big city problems and big city advantages. One problem that's a bit worse is that public transportation is inadequate almost to the point of non-existance. Climate is mild in the winter, but bad in the summer. Lots of recreation opportunities around, lots of pretty places, lots of shopping, lots of restaurants, bars and cultural stuff.

And of course, just an hour from Fort Worth!
