Are you Republican? My friend's sister lives there and says it's crazy conservative and most people there are having a hard time coping with the new President elect.

She loves it out there. She showed me pictures and it just seemed relaxed, slow paced, completely opposite of San Diego, where I live.

If you like "roaming" you should like it.

Also, as always it probably depends on the area in OK that you are moving to.

sly_2314
Well yeah if you like the quite life, nothing really exicting happens though.

Matt

My aunt raised her children for a while in Broken Arrow, OK and they all miss OK. They are currently living in North Carolina, and out of all the states they lived in (about 6 of them) they loved Oklahoma THE BEST.

Mr. J
Even Texas is better and that's not saying much.

Jess
It's really warm, If you are from a state north of OK, which sounds silly, but I am, and didn't expect it, silly me. There is red dirt, other than that I dont know. I was only there for a day packing my aunt's tin can of a trailer into a uhaul so we could move her back to Indiana and she lived outside of a pokey little town you could hold your breathe while driving through it was so small (seriously, no joke 1 stop light) The red dirt neat though, I wasn't expecting it. How your move goes well.

Oklahoma is a great place to live. I wish you had said where you where moving in Oklahoma. The state is very diverse in the type topography there is. We have wide open plains. Hills and even mountains.

I'm most familiar with the northeast area of the state. I grew up in Tulsa. Although I love Tulsa I would not want to live there now. I live 55 miles west of there in a smaller but nice town. The Stillwater area is up and coming. Growing fast.

You will find the people friendly and nice.

Edit: You can find lots of things to do. We get New York Plays in Tulsa Next month I'm going to Cirque du Soleil. We have lots of state parks and many many lakes. So summer recreation is great. There are many museums too. The Tulsa and OKC zoos are great as well.

myrtle
it's OK!

NO MOVE TO ILLINOIS NOT AS MANY OLD PEOPLE LIVE THERE!!

Richard K
Honestly, depending on where you come from, the closer you get to Texas people are really stiff and unfriendly. Its the south but not the kind of south where you have southern hospitality.

Warriors_Gsw
Its a little better the texas so there you go

Help!
Of course Oklahoma would have a good environment. There are not as much automobiles. and the fields and trees produce a large quantity of fresh air. I've never lived there, so I'm answering your answer with science. I would love to live in Oklahoma, for the quiet country atmosphere. Technologies and things like shopping might be difficult to find there (unless you live in the large cities). Oh, and the chance of getting blown away by tornadoes is *pretty* high. Since it's in the Central area, it's fairly warm throughout the year. These are all I could think of, hope they help :)
