Well obviously, because you live there, you're slightly biased and there's nothing wrong with thinking that your city is the best city in the world. It's a lovely city but there are more cities in the world that offer more. The cheesesteaks there are amazing but since Baltimore just gave your Eagles a nice thrashing yesterday and McNabb got benched, well..... |

Yes it is! I was born and raised in South Philly. All of my family, my fiance's family and all of our friends live in South Philly!!!

Obviously it isn't the best because the population is shrinking instead of growing. I grew up there and loved it, but now I'd never move back.
Other cities have much better public transit. Boston, NYC, Prague, Amsterdam, Delft, Zagreb, and San Francisco are better and I know this from personal experience.
Center City Philly is dead at night, unlike New York, Amsterdam, and Prague.
Philly does have great public art all around the city, the world's best cheesesteaks, and the people are wonderful, but it is nowhere close to being the best city in the world. |

We're have the best sports fans in the entire USA. Passion and loyalty is what sets us apart!
We also don't have "overcrowding" like NYC or their traffic jams. "In the world" may be too high of an honor...probably "NorthEast" would be better. Let's not forget the world is a big place with plenty to offer.

yea! any place that needs to have a jail in their stadium is got to be the best city in the world. or not. is philly fun? maybe, ill find out next month. but it doesn't have a nice rep. the "not so brotherly" city, killadelphia. sorry. that kinda scares me. |

Is that a joke? Someone hasn't been around much. The place is a dump. I grew up in the suburbs and can say it's better then the city itself but still no prize. People are rude, unattractive,overweight,sedentary, and really the city itself has lousy shopping(gotta go to KOP which is suburban close to where I'm from), decent but overpriced restaurants considering the quality of the food, and there's really nothing else to do if you're under 21 besides see the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the Art museum and the zoo and these get old in a hurry. The only thing I like about Philly are the Eagles and King Of Prussia Mall if you count that. I'm not looking forward to going back for break except to see family and friends.
I don't think there is a "best" city but some of my favorites are Orlando(born and lived in the suburbs for a number of years), Miami, Chicago, Manhattan, Montreal. |
