Is the middle of August (12-16) a good time to go to Disney and Universal. Are the crowds low then? Thanks!?

That place is busy all the time but the heat at this time is tarable. I've been there probably 12 times all different times of the year and I'm from Michigan. Disney is always busy all year. A good time to go would be when school is going if you don't have children in school.

July and August are quite hot..I just went and it was terrible...We went this past march and it was great..The wait time really wasn't that long and the weather was nice..I would try to avoid August..We really didn't have much fun due to the heat and I live in Florida..

I have always heard that the least crowdest month for Disneyland is October.

I live one hour from Disney. You would not catch me in Disney in the summer months, especially in August when it rains almost every
day with lightning. The best time to go is the first week of November when it;s cooler. If you stay at any of the disney resorts, you get to go in 1 hour earlier that outsiders. If august is your only choice, then I recomend you to get up early, hit the park of your choice and after lunch
go back to your room and go for a swim and relax after it cools down, go back for the evening. Otherwise you will be all burnt out by
the time you see half of the park. You will have more energy if you rest in the afternoon and then stay up later to see the fireworks & parades. I have been to Disney about 20 times, if you want to know anything just ask! JP

No - too hot. The best time to go is November - especially around Thanksgiving, a flight attendant informed me once.

cool_breeze_2444
It's gonna be very hot and humid and crowded. The school district I live in has year-round school. They get a 2 week break in October. That's when many families here go to Florida. The weather's much nicer and the crowds are much smaller because most families have kids in school then.

XXX
besides what the crowd will be .... did you think how hot will be there?

birdbeach19
The lines are long and the days are hot! i went to universal once in late july...it was horrible outside. Anyways, go in the winter. The weather is so much better. The lines will always be long, but they move fast. At least this way you won't be sweating your body weight.

basketcase88
You're picking about the absolutely worst time of the year to go to Orlando. The crowds at Universal and Disney will be pretty much near their peak, probably only eclipsed by Christmas and New Years. The weather will be miserably hot, and humid. It's also still considered peak travel, so you'll be paying top dollar for everything.

Wait a couple of months, if you haven't already purchased non-refundable tickets. The crowds will have dwindled, the weather will be cooler, and the hotels will be cheaper.

Good luck!

amberramos67
The weather will probably be hot but the crowds are not bad, and now that they have the fast pass at Disneyland it's much easier to ride all the rides. I used to work there and the busy season is the Holidays, Tues or Wed are usually good days to go.

That would be a horrible time to go. You will never sweat so much as you would in August at Disney World. The best time to go to Orlando is Super Bowl Weekend. There is absolutely no one there SuperBowl Sunday. Granted, you'll miss the game, but its so worth it if you are going to spend all the money to come here. Good Luck!

NO !. hot, humid, crowded

As a matter of fact, yes it is.
It is the slow season from now until the last 2 weeks in December, in Florida.
The hotel prices just dropped last weekend and I went on Priceline.com put it that I wanted to stay at a 3 star hotel in the Disney area for $55.00. I stayed at the Sheraton Safari Resort close to downtown Disney for $55.00 per night.
Even the Disney Resorts prices have dropped.
And in most of these places, they have buses that run to and from the Theme Parks at no additional charge. Ours did.

As for the crowds. Saturday is the busiest. But we went to the Magic Kingdom on Monday and the line waits weren't bad. We went to Epcot on Friday and there was no line wait for anything. And this was just last week.

lmohdlp
NO! The crowds are the worst! Especially because school is almost beginning

as i remember it, august may have been like the most crowded time of the year possible. airlines are cheap cause kids are about to go to school and its freaking hot. be prepared to be in minimal clothing & carry around those little fans w/ sprayers!!

Disney Fan
Nooooooo. HOT, HUMID, STICKY, MUGGY, ICKY, AND VERY VERY CROWDED. Lots of drenching rain storms too. Wait until the end of August. Less crowded, but still you have the weather to contend with, minus the crowds.

gigglin209
There are always crowds in the summer. It is a high volume season between memorial and labor days. It's going to be sooooooo hot!

The park will be open later to make up for the crowds. I went twice in November and the park closed early, but the crowds were a little smaller. Buy one of the Disney travel books by Birnbaum. It was great.

It is peak season.
Oct and Feb are the low season times.

It's going to be really, really hot! Disney and Universal always have crowds. Go during the week, and drink lots of water. Wear a hat, and take sunscreen.

lynda l
Just hope you can stand high humidity because it's gonna be hot...really hot with regular downpour & thunderstorms in the afternoon most everyday. Drink plenty of water more than the usual & eat more little meals than big one cuz your digestion will be slow with the heat. And of course remember to bring or buy a good sunscreen lotion... The crowds are very low during August.

Pinolera
No, the best time to go is after August 25, because all the kids would have gone back to school and the parks are less crowded.

pompomgirl292
no dont go then!unless you want to stand in line 3 hrs 4 1 ride. go in the middle of the year/.
