New York City is a wonderful city. One of the things that you will be amazed at is how well the city functions with all of its diversity. People from all over the world, so many different languages spoken. . .so many different customs. . .and everyone gets along just fine. It's a model of what life should be in its most diverse best. It has also become a very safe city to visit & live in. It is among the safest large cities in the country.

I LIVE RIGHT NEXT TO NEW YORK i go there like all the time and if you plan the right things to do there ( like go to a play or go to dinner or just go for a night walk ) it ia TOTALLY AWSOME!!! Manhaten is really the best place to go for a 1 2 or 3 night getaway with fun and cultural things to do. You dont even need to pay to have fun in new york. you can go there and have the time of your life and pay almost nothing at all. that is is u dont want to go to a play or a fancy resturant. In my opinion the plays are the best! so creative and funny. I could go on and on about New York but i cant write forever. I hope you go and have fun. :) - Briana

I've been there many times. It was worth going most of the times I went. The East Village is the best area. But that all depends on what you want to see if you go there. If you like big cities heavy traffic crowds of people then you will Love New York.

If your talking about NYC, then yes! Loved it! Wish that I could go back! Worth visiting, especially if your into musicals!

If your talking about NY state in general, steer clear of Buffalo! Nothing to do around here.

paralegaltechnik
Yes. It is among the worlds greatest cities. There is more to do there than you can imagine. In some ways New Yorkers live up to their hard edged reputation, but there are many friendly people there too! Go more than once if you can.

YES!!!!!!! Museums, shows, restaurants... the list goes on! I live in NY and would definitely recommend going. Right now in the spring is the best time!

New York is a wonderful, crazy, adventurous place. I loved it. It is a big difference from Los Angeles. I want to go back this summer.

digimutt
is it worth it to come here? This is THE CITY if it ain't here, you don't really want it. The best of everything is right here from neighborhood pizza to Broadway shows to some of the hottest clubs you'll ever party in. there's museums Try the Museum of Sex for one) and all the touristy like the Empire State although you cannot go into the Statue of Liberty any more. there's all sorts of stuff and the city and her people are a show unto themselves. If you have a chance to come here, jump on it and get here any way you can. You will not be sorry, I guarantee it

Very very very much worth going! I've never stayed in the city (have family on Long Island), but it can be expensive. But it's got everything! I want to go back this summer, but my boyfriend hates the yankees, so it'll be a trick getting him there.

Confused...friend731

I am resident of New York City and have lived in this city for more than 20 years and still have not tired of it. Though I must say I have gotten tired of living in Manhattan for 15 years and have now moved to Queens, New York City. This city of 8 million people live in five counties (aka boros) and has people from all parts of the world. You will find here the largest subway in the USA which provides great connections to almost all parts of the city. There is a great bus service also. Clubs, Broadway shows, music, cultural events, even nature walks in our famous parks! World renowned museums, the UN, Statue of Liberty, Wall Street (said to be the financial capital of America) and there are even friendly people here! But please realize you are coming to a metropolis - the largest city in America. If I were visiting a metropolis I would ask what is it that I am looking for and make a plan to find it. Respect the local laws (even if the local don't - just a joke) and the city shall provide you with opportunities to grow.

it's worth going for a small trip if you plan a whole bunch of stuff you want to do like visit museums, broadway, etc.

it's not really the kind of place i would go for the nightlife. it's a huge city. there's crime. people are rude. there's good restaurants and some good shopping but i'm more the type to shop at the mall.

but it's fun to go for a day from my mom's place in NJ. then get the hell out of there when the city starts to get to me.
