Question Queen ?

Is there really a city in Texas, called Sugar Land?

William K
Of course. It is a suburb of Houston. Sugar Land was the original home of Imperial Sugar, and where their original cane fields were located. They no longer produce sugar there (it is, by and large, a sprawling suburb now), but they do have offices.

Yep, not far from Houston

Yes. :)

Yep. I live in one of the cities adjacent to it and go to a high school in it. Great city to live in, by the way.

Yeah, Sugarland is actually a very fast growing community and is becoming one of the most desirable places to live. Its called Sugarland because it was founded on a sugar plantation and now it is the home of Imperial Sugar headquarters and refinery.

yea of course there is.

Texicano
Yes and you even spelled it correctly. It is Sugar Land as in 2 different words and NOT Sugarland as in only one word. Imperial Sugar company was at one time located there which is where the name comes from.

Patti C
Yes, and there is a place called: Chicken, Alaska.
and....
Dickeyville, Wisconsin
Toad Suck, Arkansas
Intercourse, Pennsylvania

Aren't those hilarious?

Ha ha that is a great name. We were looking on a map one time and there is a place called Holly Beach, Louisiana (have you heard of it?). Anyway it sounded cool, Holly Beach.
