Of course. It is a suburb of Houston. Sugar Land was the original home of Imperial Sugar, and where their original cane fields were located. They no longer produce sugar there (it is, by and large, a sprawling suburb now), but they do have offices. |

Yeah, Sugarland is actually a very fast growing community and is becoming one of the most desirable places to live. Its called Sugarland because it was founded on a sugar plantation and now it is the home of Imperial Sugar headquarters and refinery.

Yes and you even spelled it correctly. It is Sugar Land as in 2 different words and NOT Sugarland as in only one word. Imperial Sugar company was at one time located there which is where the name comes from. |
