It has an amazing geographical setting, cosmopolitan culture, and delicious food. You just have to be a millionaire to buy any real estate there :(

I think the USA has a number of really great cities, and San Francisco is certainly on the list. Pretty good climate, educated population, good bus and subway system, very good restaurants, pretty good arts community, and low unemployment. Cost of living is WAY high, and that's a big negative.

Heck yeah!!!!

I was born and raised here and love my city by the Bay!

"When the lights go down in the City
And the sun shines on the Bay
I want to be there in my City
ooh, ooh...."

Um, yes, duh?? One of the greatest cities in the world, only SF and NY are the most recognized internationally by travel associations and tourism.

No. It's filthy (like all big cities), well most of it is.

I think it's fine if you go visit there once in a while, and of course you love it if you live there, but I visit about once a week, and it's nothing special.

Louie From Ohio
I love San Francisco and would consider it among the greatest cities in the US. I, personally, would rank it in the Top 5 and, depending on the day, my #1. I just love it there.

Yeah, it's right up there with New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston, Washington, Portland, and Seattle...you know, what the religious conservatives in this country like to call "The Axis of Evil"

clifford g
No. Chicago, New York, Denver, Dallas, Orlando, La Jolla, LA, Tucson, Portland, and Charleston are all slightly better. So San Fran is a great city, but not one of the greatest.

gtoacp
It used to be, but in the last 40 years has declined dramatically.

YA Novels
nope

someguy
I say this in a respectful way if you're gay San Fran is heaven......For the rest of us San Fran sucks.....
