I know it's a tough question, but give it your best shot....

Kentucky, Tennessee, and/or Texas? Which of these do you prefer, not prefer? Why?

My top pick: TEXAS!!! Friendly folks, culture, history, Texas pride, awesome cities, beautiful country, geographical diversity, clean skies (outside the large cities,) great universities. A western sky's-the-limit and can-do-will-do attitude with Southern hospitality! Don't mess w/ TX

The other two states:
-Tennessee: I'm not trying to denigrate it here, b/c it's still a beautiful state in it's own right. It has friendly people, for the most part, the mountains are breathtaking, and Nashville and Memphis have a lot of history, music culture, and economic development. Beale St. is awesome!
-Kentucky: I live here, I'm a native, and I can say that it sucks. No southern hospitality here. Few people say "thank you," girls don't like it when guys hold doors open for them, and the economic opportunities are limited. Unless you already know or are kin to somebody, people don't act like they know you; some just become outright rude with you. Plus, east KY is in nothing but a welfare state.
Additional Details
Texas: "Don't mess with Texas!" is a great slogan. Now I have to decide whether I'm going to say "Hook 'em" or "Gig 'em."

Tennessee: "Good ol' rocky top, rocky top Tennessee."

Kentucky: "My Old Kentucky Home" is the suckiest state song ever! But, to its credit, it has Ale-8-1, the best soft drink ever!

Please stop asking the same stupid questions over and over again. If you don't like living in Kentucky, then get out of your mommy's basement and leave.

I would have to say Kentucky. I am also a native, but apparently from a different part than you. We always say coke here, and hate "pop", bourbon is made here, Ale-8-One rocks, and in my experience I have seen more southern hospitality here than those other two states combined. Although I agree with you on several things about KY. "Thank you" is kind of rare, the hicks suck, girls don't like it when guys hold doors for them, economic opportunities are limited to certain people, and there is a lot of judging based on if you are kin or not to people. You honestly can't put east KY with west KY though.

I do like Tennessee though, but I hate Nashville, for personal reasons, and I just don't have anything I particularly like about TN. Nothing against it, but nothing for it either.

Texas though I don't like that much as a whole. Every single person I have ever met from Texas never shut up about how great Texas was, and when I was in Texas, I couldn't figure out why. A lot of Texans I have met not only didn't shut up about Texas, they also wore shirts, hats, and other things, that had messages about how great Texas was. One of the more popular shirts I saw said "Texas is bigger than you"... no ****, so are a lot of things. Besides their attitude that they are better than everyone else, they were just about all assholes. I know several people that share my opinion of Texas for similar reasons, and I don't know where you got had any friendly folks and southern hospitality in Texas. There is only one thing that came out of Texas that I have liked, the band Pantera.

I would say from my experience, people from KY are friendlier in general and I like Kentucky better, Tennessee is alright, and I'm not fond of Texas. Maybe I just had several bad experiences with Texans, and so did the people I met, or maybe people from Texas and Kentucky in general don't get along, but as for right now, I don't really like Texas.

I have a feeling you are a hateful person, so no wonder people in Kentucky are rude to you. People in EVERY state will be rude to you if you put down where they live. Either leave, or suck it up and take it. Nobody is making you stay.

WFT? Why you hating on KY...? And disrespecting the people who were born and raise there. I am from Louisville but went to college in east KY... You clearly don't think before you write/speak. I hate when uneducated people chose to flaunt their ignorance and add to the sterotypes of an already backwards world.

That's a damn shame you putting down your own hometown. My Husband is from Kentucky, and I've been there and the folks there were awful nice all around! Maybe where you are from that sucks. I was a military brat so I really don't have one particular place to call home except maybe Va. Bch. I lived there the longest and I can understand why you would say that about your hometown. I feel that way too about my so-called hometown! So I guess to each her own right? ; ) funny when you think about it!

lol how funny. I have lived in Texas, california and Tennessee... I would never live west of the Rockies again.

I found people in Tennessee to be so warm and open and friendly. Texas, maybe not quite so...

I think I would pick Texas though because of the Mexican food... :) also, the geography is much more diverse and there is no state income tax. Also, there is much more diversity in the populations.

But I love Tennessee... I think we are cousins... maybe texas and tenn. are really twins seperated at birth.

Without Tennessee.. there would BE no texas.. Tennesseans founded the state for the most part.

No info on ky.

Peace,

ana g

Texas because I was born there. Tennessee because it is green and has mountains. Don't know that much about Kentucky.

MJ
Tennessee is most definately the BEST!! Of course I'm partial because I live here, but I have traveled all over the US, and Tennessee has the best of all states.

TEXAS!!!! Born and raised here and never want to leave! There's nothing better than that southern hospitality! I've been to other states, even lived in a few for a couple of months because of work transfers, but it just doesn't compare. Texas is just a beautiful place, lots of open land, friendly people...basically everything you said about it is all true! :)
