The way these people are talking you would think people are having sex on the streets. Where I live my kids see hookers walking down the streets all the time but I never in my 7 years of going to Vegas seen one hooker. If you are looking for sex then you will find it, if not you won't. As for the penis on the bathroom door that's in a adult club!
Here are a few things that I do with my kids( who never seen anything sexual but a women in a bikini) do when were in Vegas:
Luxor--Imax Theatre, Motion Rides, In Seach of the Obelisk
Mandalay Bay--Shark Reef
Caesars Palce--Fountains Shows
Circus Circus--Adventuredome
Show case mall--Game Works, M&M World, Free 3d movies "I lose My "M" in Vegas
Mirage--Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat
Ny Ny--Roller Coaster
Stratoshere-Rides
Paris--Eiffel Tower
Sahara--Speed the Ride
Las Vegas Hilton--Borg Invasion 4D, The Star Trek Experience
Fremont Street Experience
Flyaway--In door Slydriving
Liberace Museum--Free Bus Service
Sunset Stampede in Sam Town--Free Bus a Herrah's
Primm NV--Shopping and a small amusement park--12 bus to Primm
Rio--Free Show |

We went out there on business for five days and took my 11-year old daughter - and we don't drink or gamble! We had an absolute blast and can't wait to go again! She did enjoy the adventuredome at Circus-Circus. Although I thought she'd pay a child rate - it goes by height and she paid the adult rate - which I think was $25 - $30. There is TONS for kids in my opinion. First of all - your hotel is likely to have a nice pool and arcade. We visited lots of the casinos which are a sight to see in themselves - especially the Venetian (with boats meandering through canals in the hotel - and free shows - and "live" statues) - also New York, New York, and the Las Vegas / Paris are a pleasure to walk through. We enjoyed the Bellagio fountains, the volcano and tiger exhibit at the Mirage, the lions at the MGM Grand, the Eiffel Tower Experience at the Paris, the live statues at Ceasar's Palace Forum (they also have a Planet Hollywood cafe there she loved), and the free mardi gras show at the Rio - her favorite because of all the free bead necklaces. There are gardens, aquariums, magic shows, Freemont Street with all it's lights, car exhibits, the monorail, I could go on and on - e-mail me if you'd like. We had a long list of things to do right there (with no car) and didn't get to them all in five days. We hope to go again. Have fun! |

wow a lot of you are making vegas sound like only adults can live here. that's not exactly true. i am a teenager living in las vegas and i think it's much better than many cities. sure, it's not the most kid-friendliest place ever, but i've seen a great deal of families who bring their children along when they visit vegas.
the circus circus casino and hotel is very kid-oriented. they have the indoor amusement park called the Adventuredome and there is a section of the casino called Midway where families can play carnival-type of games. To ride the rides at Adventuredome, an all-day pass costs $24.95. There is a rollercoaster, water ride, tower ride, laser tag, and so much more. If your daughter loves amusement parks, she'll definitely love the Adventuredome.
The M&M and Coca-cola factory is somewhat fun, there is an arcade underground but it is very crowded since that is where all the tourist families take their kids. It use to be that you could take a tour of the coca-cola factory, but they closed a couple years ago. instead, you can take your daughter to M&M world(it's 4 stories). it's a store where not only can you buy M&M souvenirs, but take this interactive free tour into how M&M's are made. the store itself is very creative and colorful.
in the forum shops of caesar's palace hotel and casino, there is a huge FAO Schwartz toy store. it is very cute, the outside of the store is a modern life-size replica of the trojan horse. although the toys there are ridiculously expensive, it is a nice place for you and your daughter to visit, and there are toys for her to play as well. |

I am a young adult myself and I have been going to Vegas at least twice a year since I was seven. People may say that Vegas is inappropriate for young children but I disagree...not everything there is about sex and partying. There are a lot of arcades and shops, depending on what your daughter likes to do. She may be a little old for circus circus.....She can try the roller coaster at NY NY if she likes them. M&M World is a shop filled with M&Ms....you can't really spend that much time there. But, I recommend that you stay at Mandalay Bay. It has many things suitable for young children. First of all there is a the Shark Reef (it is an aquarium), then there is the man made beach....it has sand and its a big wave pool...there is also a lazy river which is great for relaxing. And furthermore, there are many pools (normal)...I stay here almost everytime I go (summer)! But I do wish you and your daughter fun wherever you choose to go!!!! |

Las Vegas is not a place to vacation with children. M&M is a store with all the M&M stuff you would every want to buy or eat. |

My advice....pick another place to go. I just got back from there and EVERYTHING is about sex. Even when you are innocently walking down the street all sorts of people are handing you fliers on strippers, call girls and sex clubs. One restaurant we went into the bathrooms were labeled penis(for the boys room) and vagina for the woman's room. Not a place for kids. But tons of fun for partying type adults. |

At 9 years old, she *might* find Circus Circus a little lame - I found it more to the liking of a six year old. M&M World is fine, but that would only kill a hour, tops. Pretty much it's a large candy shop with a 15 minute 3-D movie. Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, the Dolphin Habitat and Secret Garden at the Mirage, and the MGM Lion Habitat might be more to her interest.
Honestly, though - I would not plan a long vacation in Vegas for two reasons: 1. Most of the city was built on gambling. 2. It's really not a city meant for children - what they can do is limited. I found Universal Studios WAY more interesting for that age!!
Good luck. |

Why are you going to Vegas if you don't gamble? Well New York New York has a roller coaster and the Stratosphere has some awesome rides (you might not enjoy them too much). I'm pretty sure there were plenty of arcades. |

Circus Circus is fun as long as you don't mind paying big bucks for your kids to win some mediocre-quality stuffed animals. Las Vegas hasn't been a great place for kids ever since MGM closed their theme park and Treasure Island got rid of its pirate theme. The indoor theme park is free admission but paying for rides can get costly. The roller coaster at NYNY is pretty pricey too (around ten dollars I believe) and the carnival games there are about the same as those in Circus Circus and Excalibur. The M&M World is just a huge candy store. How much fun can a candy store provide? I don't recall free samples. There's no point going to Vegas if you don't gamble. All in all, the best deal for your kid is to take her to the Fashion Show Mall (and some other shopping venues in casinos such as Caesars Palace, Aladdin, Venetian) if she's a shopaholic. Not much else though. |

Circus Circus is great
Was there the day after Thanksgiving and all the kids had a great time.
Hoover Dam is a must for children. Wow the views engineering feat and just the history.
Go to Lake Mead one day the kids will love the swimming.
Near City Hall the natural history museum
Red Rock Canyon and the Canyon of Fire.
This is the most interesting place on the face of the earth
You can do so much on a modest budget. |

Vegas is NOT a place for kids. We went there a few years ago. They don't call it sin city for nothing. It is really all about Gambling, booze, sex..... There are all these icky people on the streets handing out cards for call girls. If you insist on going, there is a big M&M store(where the candies are more expensive than in any other store), circus circus, and a coke store on the strip. You'll have to make an effort to find it but there is the Ethel M chocolate factory you can tour. Also one of the hotels has a huge fountain in front of it with a show every night. New York, New york has a roller coaster, if you are into Sci-Fi at all, the hilton has a big star trek thing. |

M&M store is a store that sells nothing but M&M products from the candy, to clothing to coffee mugs, etc etc.
There is the circus circus which your daughter will love, and there are other places within the strip area that has things for kids. for prices on circus circus check this website out:

If you decide to come down here to Vegas, hope the 2 of you have a fun time!! |

Las Vegas is an adult playground and not suitable for children of any age. They will be exposed to a lot of sex, nudity, alcohol and gambling. Sorry but there is no way around that. In fact since you don't like to gamble I see no reason why you are going at all.
Circus Circus is very crowded and not very clean. You really don't want to go there, the M&M world is good for about a half hour tops. There is a nice amusment center at the New York New York, but again that is only good for a day. Las Vegas isn't really set up for kids or families, there are so many better places to take your daughter.
If you need any more info, you can message me if you like. |
