LA is alright, but its just a little too spread out for me. I might have to spend hours just to commute to work or just to go somewhere. SF is more convenient, in my opinion. Everything is closer and it doesnt take as long to go places. |

I visited San Francisco and looooved it!! It is a beautiful city, it has so much character and I thought it was pretty cool to walk down height and Ashbury streets were the whole psychadelic scene began, and to go go Alcatraz and all that other tourist stuff!! but I would love to go to LA someday.. I have a friend who lives right outside LA and she says it's not all its made to be.. alot of bums, druggies, weirdos and smog. I still wanna go though! |

San Fran all the way baby!
SF has got natural fog, not man-made.
SF also is the most diverse place to live in the whole country. |

I've never been to LA.. but I've been near it and the weather is sooo perfect.
I live in the Bay Area and I've been to SF many many times.. and it's really not fun. All of the hot spots are full of tourists and there are more 30-40 yr olds.. not so many people in their 20's unless you want to hit Palo Alto then all you get are kids from Stanford.. too young! The club scene is really bad. I can imagine LA to have a lot more to do for those who are in their late 20's to early 30's... So, there aren't a lot of "young adults" here .. it's mostly older professionals who are a bore and who don't get out much.
LA sounds way cool.. but I don't want to be in that traffic or in the smog (although I'm sure it's exaggerated.. there is traffice in the bay area but if you go after rush hour it's not so bad) |

SoCal v. NoCal written by an objective observer:
It is really like comparing apples to oranges. San Francisco is that smelly half eaten apple (pop. 776,000) and Los Angeles (pop. 3.9 million city; 9 million county) is a ripely picked orange that tastes very sweet. I lived Providence and Boston for 27 years before moving west coast to live in LA so I don't understand San Francisco snobbery. The city was built only a short time ago yet a portion of their population acts if they are america's most elite minds.
So, obviously I choose Los Angeles...And now the many reasons why...
(1) Prettier women
(2) Better weather
(3) Better beaches
(4) More variety
(5) More diversity
(6) Its an international city
(7) You can choose the style of neighborhood you live in and actually be able to afford to live there...
(8) I am not a Cal, UCLA, USC or Stanford Alumnus...I went to an Ivy League school so the rivalries between the two are entertaining to me. If I had a choice between one school over another for an all-time football team I would probably pick more USC and UCLA players (with a few exceptions like John Elway of Stanford). If I had a choice between choosing a legal defense team Stanford would be a no brainer...If I needed people to organize a coup or protest something I would go to Cal for that.
(9) There are more women than men in LA while SF suffers from the opposite dilemma. I know I mentioned women earlier but I am trying to make a point.
(10) It is closer to San Diego
(11) Smog beats Fog any day of the week
(12) C'mon we have Melrose and Robertson Blvd. I can buy a vintage t-shirts for $10 or $300. Heh heh heh.
(13) Did I mention that there were more attractive women?
Okay I will stop now. I can go on forever...If you are from NoCal eat some granola and choke on it...I will be happy eating my In and Out and then jogging at the beach and checking out hot ladies on one of the beautiful sunny days we have here in LA in order to work it off...LOL!
If you think I am shallow then you are probably an ugly dude or chick...LOL!
I do want to thank you for giving the Patriots Tom Brady...Although he fits in better with the LA crowd. |
