The only advantage LA has is being closer to the ocean and having Hollywood. Other than that, I would prefer Dallas.

LA by far! I lived in Dallas for 34 years and thank every day I don't live there anymore.
I live 2 blocks to the beach now and drive along the ocean to get to my job 7 miles away. A nice 20 minute commute.
The temperature rarely gets over 80 and I don't have to deal with the unbearable humidity that Dallas has. Or the inability to buy a bottle of vodka on Sunday if I want to.
The housing is a lot more expensive in LA, but it's because of location, location, location! Ocean, mountains, great weather and scenery. It's wonderful!

I do miss the Texas BBQ though!

If you have been to Los Angeles you will see why so many people live there, you can't beat it as far as location, weather, scenery and beautifulness goes ....but the cost of living in Dallas is extremely lower than L.A. that its no wonder why so many people are moving there. I'm even thinking of moving to Dallas from Northern Ca because its so tempting to buy a new 3000 sq ft. home for less than $200,000. I don't think you can get a house anywhere in California for less than $200,000.

I love them both. I grew up in Southern California and now live in Texas. Dallas is very nice too.

Dan
Los Angeles, but Dallas is nice too.

Cali is nice, weather and lifestyle... but more peeps from LA are moving to Dallas than the vice versa, so what does that tell you?... =O) ... D-town for sure...

.
i'd go for LA but the cost of living is much higher there compared to DFW, you are paying for the weather vs. the land in dallas. so if you can afford it go for it if not, don't do it.

Los Angeles is closer to the beach

I'd say they're about the same in terms of heat and traffic; LA is just bigger. I say flip a coin.
