Hi, Danielle.
I don't think your question is stupid. You're just gathering info because you don't know and there is nothing wrong with that. Chances are, there is someone else out there who has the exact same question, but is too shy or embarrassed to ask.
Answer to your question:
No, you do not need a passport. My husband and I were married on the big island of Hawaii. We reside in Maryland.
You definitely don't need a passport.
Congratulations on your new marriage!! Hope you have a terrific honeymoon! So much to do and just breathtaking!!! You're gonna love it there and not want to come back here!!! Trust me!!
Take care. |

Do you have passports in the first place? Even though Honolulu is part of the united states and you won't need them, if you do have them it is always good to bring your passport on an airplane. If you don't have them I wouldn't worry about it now, but I would get them for future travel plans. |

You do not need passports to travel within the U.S. |

You shouldn't need them, considering Hawaii is part of the United States and you wouldn't be leaving the country. |

No, you do not need a passport to go to Hawaii or Alaska. Some cruise lines stop in non-US ports and they do require passports because of it. If you are flying from US mainland to Hawaiian islands, you don't need a passport. |

my cuzin is a US resident and she didn't have a passport, just a driver's license. She traveled to Hawaii just fine.
Hawaii is part of the United States. So it's just like flying from New Jersey to California.
You would only need a passport if you traveled to another country like Mexico or Canada, for example. |

Don't let these other people fool you, look on a map. If you can find Hawaii you can obviously see it is not connected to the United States. It's all the way out in the ocean!! You will definately need a passport to travel to a place not part of the USA. In addition to a passport, make sure you bring your birth certificate, marriage license, drivers license, library card, health insurance certificate, student ID and your last 3 years of tax returns. You should also see your doctor to get special tropical disease prevention shots. Tell him you need shots to prevent scurvy, beriberi and foot fungus - these are very common. Make sure you have your affairs in order like a current will, and make arrangements with the the relatives you leave behind for things like burial arrangements... (the natives can be unpredictable to outsiders).
Now that I've had my fun, go to Hawaii without a passport and enjoy - Aloha. |

Honolulu is in Hawaii, which is the 50th state in the United States. You won't need a passport. But bring lots of money. It's expensive there. |

You do NOT need a passport to travel to Hawaii, it is a part of the United Stated, just not on the main land. While in Honolulu go to Germaine's Lulu excellent food and a great time, you get to learn to hula dance. Have a Very Happy Wedding and A Happy Honeymoon! |

No passport necessary, unless your not an American Citizen. Hawaii always request for my mothers passport because she was an Japanese Visitor, living in American without citizenship. My mom finally got her citizenship in 1980's. Now she legal, and just carries her driver license or Personal State ID's. If you live in Virginia are you American Citizens? Yes, than no worries, you can travel all the Hawaiian Islands, we are the 50 State of the United States. Congrats on your honeymoon, and good luck...Enjoy! |

Ok, I am really going to try not to be mean like some of the others but do the schools that you went to growing up really do such a bad job with your geography? First, Hawaii is a state and has been for quite some time (try since 1959). Secondly, you dont fly over Mexican waters to get to Hawaii. And lastly, the correct way to present the question would have been, "My fiance and I..." |

Yes, you definitly need a passport. According to the department of State, in order to travel anywhere from your home, you are required to keep some form of official Identification. If you do not have a driver's licence, you will need a passport. |
